Polhemus Savery DaSilva

October 3, 2011

Another coastal home in Massachusetts...shocking I know! Like I said on Friday, I'm super obsessed. This light-filled home designed by Polhemus Savery DaSilva and photographed by Brian Vanden Brink is brimming with fresh, cheery color and I love it. I wish I knew the paint color of the kitchen cabinets...it's so pretty how it changes color like that. I think it's so cool how relaxed the dining room is too. Such cute fabric on those dining chairs! To finish the tour of this house, head right over ... View Post

Mirador Builders + EDI International, Inc

September 16, 2011

Happy Friday!! I don't often have the opportunity to share homes like this authentic Spanish Colonial Revival designed by EDI International, Inc and built by Jennifer Hamelet of Mirador Builders out of Houston. Jennifer has been designing, building and marketing for over 20 years, and her home is something dreams are made of. Of course I was immediately drawn to the kitchen with its painted cabinets (Green Granite by Pittsburgh Paint) and pops of red. But I know you're going to want to scroll ... View Post

Margie McCulloch

September 8, 2011

Charmingly old yet refreshingly new is the perfect description of Colorado Homes and Lifestyles's Kitchen of the Year designed by Margie McCulloch of Red Pepper Kitchen and Bath Design out of Boulder. The owners wanted the space to have an Old-World feel but modern functionality, and the materials had to be interesting, textural and top of the line. I love the distressed cabinets painted Benjamin Moore's Aegean Teal, all the interesting hardware and the gorgeous three-dimensional tiles from Ann ... View Post

Tobi Fairley

September 2, 2011

If you're like me, I know you all just fell head over heals in love with this drop dead gorgeous kitchen and bath designed by Tobi Fairley, of course! Who else knows how to perfectly execute our beloved blues in such a sophisticated, elegant way?! The two-tone faux-finished kitchen cabinetry is breathtaking! And I absolutely LOVE the dining area with the built-in banquette and its fab Schumacher print. The bathroom is just as lovely with the same calm palette and airy feel as the kitchen. I love ... Fiddlehead Design Group

August 8, 2011

A lot style, a lot of function...that's my kind of kitchen. This one designed by Andrea Dixon and Jen Ziemer of Fiddlehead Design Group out of Minneapolis has all that covered and more! The owners of this early twentieth century Victorian home wanted to maintain the historical integrity of the home, while adding more storage and better workflow in their kitchen. I love how the designers mixed contemporary elements, like the fab back-painted glass backsplash, with all the traditional elements. ... View Post

Wedding Photos Galore!!

June 24, 2011

First of all, my apologies for soooo many photos (and not one turquoise house!!) We had over 1,300 photos from our incredible photographer Spencer Combs, so it was really hard to whittle it down to this many! I love them all! So now on to the details: The turquoise bridesmaids dresses, flower girl dresses, and my wedding gown were all made by Diana Winget Olson, my talented dressmaker step-mother. It was so much fun designing them and picking out fabric! I loved every twirl-worthy second in ... View Post

Julia Doyle

June 20, 2011

Oh how I wish I could spend a summer on the New England coast!! Located in the first Colonial settlement on Martha’s Vineyard, this sunny home photographed by Michael Partenio might appear to have been around for ages. But nope, this lovely is entirely new...except for a tiny part in the front. The architectural firm Brooks & Falotico (remember them from this home we all loved??) and Rosbeck Builders worked with interior designer Julia Doyle to keep the home historically authentic, but also ... Day Four: Dream Home Tour

June 16, 2011

Did I say this tour was going to take a super fun turn or what?! You can tell Cristi and her designer Lindy Allen of Four Chairs Furniture had a blast decorating the adorable playroom upstairs. Cristi refers to it as the "keiki" room (keiki is how you say kids in Hawaiian) because it has a Hawaii feel to it (surf board shelves, sea turtles, surf pillows, etc). Some of you eagle-eye readers might even recognize the nursery. I actually featured the little guy's room from their old house last year ... View Post
