Up next in our week-long tour of my reader Cristi's home is her kitchen and breakfast area. I have been eating up every little inch of this space since I first laid eyes on it! Nothing is prettier than a white kitchen warmed up with beautiful hardwood flooring and colorful tiles. You may remember from yesterday that all the floor in the home was reclaimed from an old barn out east. Love that. Did you notice the closeup of the countertop? This company called Vetrazzo makes them out of recycled ... View Post

Day Two: Dream Home Tour
And the tour continues...mouths agape for sure! For me the most striking thing about Cristi's home is the flooring. Absolutely beyond beautiful. It is actually a reclaimed oak that the couple got from a barn back on the east coast. The brick floor in the mudroom is also reclaimed, found by the builder Hatfield Homes. I'm sure you all noticed the colorful barn wood on the wall in the world's most adorable mudroom...yeah, that wood came from the farm Cristi grew up on in Idaho. Being a super ... View Post
Urban Grace Interiors
What a fantastic kitchen! Designed by Erika Powell of Urban Grace Interiors, I think it's the symmetry here that is really appealing to me. Not only gorgeous, the room is so versatile and family friendly too. I love that it's its own space, yet connected to the other rooms with the windows. In case you haven't been stalking Erika's blog for years like me, definitely check it out here, and see more of her work on her website! ... View Post

Susan Gilmore
Love. It. All. This drop-dead Minneapolis kitchen designed by Albertsson Hansen Architecture was brought to life by talented photographer Susan Gilmore. So much to love, no?! I'm crazy about the blue light-filled breakfast area, the awesome windows, the dark floors and white tile walls. Talk about the perfect combination of light and dark polished off with splashes of juicy color. It doesn't get any better than this in my book! ... View Post
Garrison Hullinger
There's so much to love in this kitchen designed by Garrison Hullinger out of Portland, Oregon. The cabinets painted Benjamin Moore HC-120 Van Alen Green are just so, so pretty. The colorful suzani rug, the narrow island, the La Cornue range and oh-my-word that chandelier are all just the mouth-watering icing on top! Check out more of this 1901 remodeled home over here!I'm so happy it's Friday, which means it's time to head to sunny California for the Design Bloggers Conference! I couldn't be ... View Post
Turquoise Striped Floor
I never get tired of looking at perfection! One of my favorites of 2010 was this Arkansas home designed by Tobi Fairley. I've already shared images from the home, including this breakfast room with you before (how could you forget the Marjorie Skouras chandelier!) but I was excited to find more images of the kitchen in Tobi's portfolio. The painted hardwood floors are absolutely fab-u-lous! (They're painted Wythe Blue by Benjamin Moore and Wool Skein by Sherwin-Williams.) The result is playful ... View Post
c/o The Maidstone
In just a few more days I'll be on my way to the Hamptons!! I've been obsessing about it and researching for a while now, and one of my favorite discoveries has been c/o The Maidstone, a chic boutique hotel in East Hampton. Unfortunately staying there is out of my blogger's budget, but luckily for us, drooling over their images is free! The Maidstone was purchased a couple years ago by Swedish hotelier Jenny Ljungberg. She infused the hotel with a free-spirited Scandinavian vibe, inspired by the ... View Post
