First of all, my apologies for soooo many photos (and not one turquoise house!!) We had over 1,300 photos from our incredible photographer Spencer Combs, so it was really hard to whittle it down to this many! I love them all! So now on to the details: The turquoise bridesmaids dresses, flower girl dresses, and my wedding gown were all made by Diana Winget Olson, my talented dressmaker step-mother. It was so much fun designing them and picking out fabric! I loved every twirl-worthy second in ... View Post
Julia Doyle
Oh how I wish I could spend a summer on the New England coast!! Located in the first Colonial settlement on Martha’s Vineyard, this sunny home photographed by Michael Partenio might appear to have been around for ages. But nope, this lovely is entirely new...except for a tiny part in the front. The architectural firm Brooks & Falotico (remember them from this home we all loved??) and Rosbeck Builders worked with interior designer Julia Doyle to keep the home historically authentic, but also ... Day Five: Dream Home Tour
I'm so sad this tour is coming to an end! A million thank you's to Cristi and Jeff for welcoming us all into their amazing home! I hope you thoroughly enjoyed it as much as I did, and that our final day today left you with a ton of inspiration. I'm totally smitten with the master bedroom in their home. Doesn't it exude such a calming retreat-like vibe?? I love that they went with the grasscloth wallcovering from Thibaut...the texture and color is perfection. The sliding barn door is super cute ... Day Four: Dream Home Tour
Did I say this tour was going to take a super fun turn or what?! You can tell Cristi and her designer Lindy Allen of Four Chairs Furniture had a blast decorating the adorable playroom upstairs. Cristi refers to it as the "keiki" room (keiki is how you say kids in Hawaiian) because it has a Hawaii feel to it (surf board shelves, sea turtles, surf pillows, etc). Some of you eagle-eye readers might even recognize the nursery. I actually featured the little guy's room from their old house last year ... View Post
Day Three: Dream Home Tour
Up next in our week-long tour of my reader Cristi's home is her kitchen and breakfast area. I have been eating up every little inch of this space since I first laid eyes on it! Nothing is prettier than a white kitchen warmed up with beautiful hardwood flooring and colorful tiles. You may remember from yesterday that all the floor in the home was reclaimed from an old barn out east. Love that. Did you notice the closeup of the countertop? This company called Vetrazzo makes them out of recycled ... View Post
Day Two: Dream Home Tour
And the tour continues...mouths agape for sure! For me the most striking thing about Cristi's home is the flooring. Absolutely beyond beautiful. It is actually a reclaimed oak that the couple got from a barn back on the east coast. The brick floor in the mudroom is also reclaimed, found by the builder Hatfield Homes. I'm sure you all noticed the colorful barn wood on the wall in the world's most adorable mudroom...yeah, that wood came from the farm Cristi grew up on in Idaho. Being a super ... View Post
Day One: Dream Home Tour
–Continue to Day Two, Day Three, Day Four or Day Five!– I'm beyond excited to share this spectacular home with you guys. Believe it or not, this space actually belongs to one of my readers. After years of saving design ideas in a folder, Cristi and her husband Jeff recently completed building their dream home in Lindon, Utah. They knew exactly what kind of home they wanted: light, beachy and airy. The couple has ties to Hawaii and wanted to incorporate that feel into their new home. And two ... View Post
