One of my favorite things about the fall is Apartment Therapy's annual Room For Color contest. I was so excited when I heard the lovely Kelly of Color Sizzle and Porter House Designs had her home office selected to be in the contest. Don't you all love the lilac, aqua and brown color scheme she uses?? I never think of the ceiling as a blank canvas, but I absolutely adore the look of it painted aqua here. Head over to AT to learn all about this room, and to vote for Kelly (it's quick and ... View Post

Phoebe Howard
How utterly fabulous is the bed in this room designed by Phoebe Howard?! Her work is incredible; I love looking at her website over and over again. I've never spent any time down south, but when I do, I NEED to hit up her stores Mrs. Howard and Max & Company. Have any of you ever been? Are they as dreamy as I imagine? Tell me all! ... View Post
Nancy Serafini Interior Design
One day I'm going to spend the summer in Nantucket. Or least a weekend. All I ever see are beautiful cottages and fabulous gardens coming from there. Take this peaceful and cozy home belonging to Boston interior designer Nancy Serafini for example. Each room has so many neat elements to look at. And how cheery is that green guest room? I had to include it (I swear I spy turquoise in the valance and shams!) Head over to Traditional Home to see more photos by Bruce Buck, including the path of ... View Post
A Maine Cottage
Lovely reader Ellen sent me an article from Better Homes and Gardens (Oct '08) that featured this beautiful home. She knew I'd love it and I do! The photographer James Salomon was kind enough to send me the photos that were featured in the article so I could share them with you! Can you believe it...this home in a coastal town of Maine is 100 years old. I adore the built-in bookcases, the sand-colored walls, and the splashes of turquoise in the Maine Cottage fabric and paint. The uncovered ... View Post
Carrier and Company
If you have a few minutes, you should go check out the online portfolio of Carrier and Company, the husband and wife design partnership of Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller. The pictures above are from their Forge River and Forge River Guest Barn projects. I'd say things are looking pretty posh for a barn! I just love all of the wood. Such a pretty retreat for some lucky guests! ... View Post
Coastal Gems
It's always a good day when you get to see some work by Jane Coslick! One day I'm going to head to Tybee Island and check out all of these delightful cottages. Did you know that you can rent out one of Jane's very own cottages? 99 Steps from the Beach (first several images above) was actually the first cottage that Jane bought on Tybee. The adorable 625-square-foot oceanfront home can be yours for 2 nights, a week, or an entire season! What a true beach experience, porch hammock and all. (See ... View Post
