Don't you guys love showhouses?? They're always so fun, filled with inspiration. This particular library designed by Patricia LaPierre of Greenwich Design Architects was in the Shippan Designer Showhouse. The space was styled by Stacy Kunstel and photographed by Michael Partenio. The talented duo actually started their own company last fall called Dunes and Duchess. They create the most amazing, giant candelabras and lamps in the coolest colors. (You can see more here...love all those photos!) ... View Post
Turquoise and Pink Girl’s Room
If anyone can prove that good design doesn't always have to cost a fortune, it's the talented Judy of DIY by Design. She recently revealed the transformation of her ten year-old daughter's room, who requested her space have aqua in it. Judy chose Benjamin Moore Whispering Spring for three of the walls, and stenciled the pink wall all by herself! Amazing! In fact, so much of what you see Judy made by herself, in addition to a few great finds from Home Goods, Target or PB Kids. You have to head ... View Post
Design Bloggers Conference
It should come as no surprise that this clean and light little boy's room is out of Scandinavia. I first saw it on Norske Interiørblogger, but you can check out more of the space on the Norwegian blog Lykke Bo. A side note: I studied Norwegian two years in college, part of that full-time in Oslo. My norsk today?? Ikke så bra. It's a good thing lovely rooms and beautiful photography speak a universal language! So have you guys all heard about the upcoming Design Bloggers Conference?? It's a ... View Post
Hillary Thomas
You guys remember that Calypso Blue bathroom I shared last week?? The design genius behind it and the rooms above is Hillary Thomas. "Go BOLD...not beige!" was her New Year's Resolution this year and I'm thinking she'll have no problem keeping that one. First and foremost, I love that she loves (like I love) pink and turquoise. Her rooms all feel so alive and vibrant, filled with layers, fabulous color and pattern. How fantastic are those blown-up photographs?? (Somehow I doubt photos of my cats ... View Post
Dream Workspace
One of things I was most excited about when I moved last year was finally having my own office. I had big dreams for the space...pretty AND efficient, an inspiring space full of color and life. That was 6 months ago. Right off the bat I got a fabulous new floor (thanks Dad!), pretty BM Waterfall walls (thanks Chris!)......and some leftover Ikea furniture from my apartment. No art, no curtains, no door even. So that's my resolution for the new year, fancy up my workspace. This one from ... View Post

It's been a very snowy, cold winter here in Minnesota, and seeing this beautiful Nantucket home designed by Arden Stephenson of ARDEN Interior Architecture & Design instantly leaves me wishing for summer! All those ocean blues and sandy neutrals evoke long, sunny days at the beach. Anyone else getting a Something's Gotta Give vibe from the space too? See more of this, and other amazing spaces designed by Arden right this way!And with that, I'm now heading down to Iowa for my last Christmas ... View Post
Turquoise Striped Floor
I never get tired of looking at perfection! One of my favorites of 2010 was this Arkansas home designed by Tobi Fairley. I've already shared images from the home, including this breakfast room with you before (how could you forget the Marjorie Skouras chandelier!) but I was excited to find more images of the kitchen in Tobi's portfolio. The painted hardwood floors are absolutely fab-u-lous! (They're painted Wythe Blue by Benjamin Moore and Wool Skein by Sherwin-Williams.) The result is playful ... View Post
