Petit St. Vincent

March 7, 2012

Sometimes you just need to get away from it all and I can't think of a better escape than Petit St. Vincent, "a private island for private people" in the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. You won't find a TV, phone or internet *gasp!* in any of the 22 newly renovated cottages. Instead the sound of waves, birds and breezes accompany the breathtaking views! I really love the interiors, featuring native stone walls and beachy color palettes. In fact, I'll take any one of them! You can see more ... View Post

Allison Hennessy Interior Design

March 6, 2012

If you're not yet familiar with New York designer Allison Hennessy, I'm super excited to make the introduction–I'm positive we'll be hearing a lot about her in the future! In fact, she was just selected as one of Traditional Home's “New Trad 10” for 2012 (nominated by Stacey Bewkes of Quintessence.) Like the editors, I too love her fresh take on traditional design. Before starting her own firm, she worked for a lot of amazing designers, including two of my all-time favorites: Phoebe Howard and ... View Post

Brian Patrick Flynn

March 5, 2012

Many of you may already be familiar with Brian Patrick Flynn aka Décor Demon. He's a television producer (TBS Movie & A Makeover and HGTV Design Star) turned self-taught decorator/designer...and he is all about color! In fact, and I'll quote him here, “Beige makes me want to stab myself in the face with a dull fork!" Ha! I love the flamestitch FLOR tiles in the dining room, they look amazing with the turquoise on the ceiling and walls. And how cool that he framed fab wallpaper swatches for ... View Post

RS Custom Homes

March 1, 2012

I got in late last night from my incredibly inspiring, oh-so-fun trip to LA! Can't wait to tell you more about it and show you some pics!! But first, I knew you would love this super cute cottage!! The unique home on the dunes of Dewees Island was designed by RS Custom Homes out of Isle of Palms, SC. No sheet rock was used in the construction; the interior is entirely made up of shiplap walls and tongue and groove ceilings. I LOVE how it looks, absolute perfection. I also love how they brought ... View Post

I love a serene bedroom with beautiful linens, and this one photographed by Hiya Papaya and designed by Lindy Allens, owner of Four Chairs Furniture, is no exception! We've seen more colorful, pattern-filled parts of her home the last two days, so this hideaway is definitely a calm departure!
