RS Custom Homes

March 1, 2012

I got in late last night from my incredibly inspiring, oh-so-fun trip to LA! Can’t wait to tell you more about it and show you some pics!! But first, I knew you would love this super cute cottage!! The unique home on the dunes of Dewees Island was designed by RS Custom Homes out of Isle of Palms, SC. No sheet rock was used in the construction; the interior is entirely made up of shiplap walls and tongue and groove ceilings. I LOVE how it looks, absolute perfection. I also love how they brought just the right amount of color into the space…so cheery You can’t tell from these images, but the layout is very “Swiss Family Robinson”. Two guest retreats are connected to the main house by boardwalks and a small bridge! You can see more photos right here! (Last house on the bottom!)

My dream house will not have any sheet rock or textured, bumpy walls. Ick! Only shiplap, beadboard, or even painted paneling.

Love the photos, as always! I thought of your blog today when I was at Michael's and saw that they currently have a whole aisle of turquoise decorative items on sale for 50% off. I got a really cool vase for my family room which we are decorating in robin's egg blue/turquoise.
