This Old House 2017 Idea House

January 29, 2018

If you have not yet seen the This Old House 2017 Idea House, you are in for a huge treat today! Located within minutes of the seashore in South Kingstown, Rhode Island, the beach house was a partnership between This Old House, Union Studio Architecture and Community Design, Sweenor Builders and Denise Enright Interior Design. The classic shingle-style home has a sophisticated yet relaxed beachy vibe and a color palette inspired by the scenic coastal New England setting. The exterior’s bold blue accents (doors in Chinese Porcelain, trim in Swirling Smoke by Olympic Paint) are just a preview of what’s to come! Continue on for many more beautiful photos by Nat Rea. So much inspiration here I can hardly stand it!

I love how the Chippendale railing stands out against the shiplap accent wall painted Everlasting by Olympic Paint.

Such a fun color palette in the home office. Great custom cabinetry too.

Most of the furnishings and accessories here and in the living room are from hayneedle.com. The rug and spindle chairs are gorgeous, as are the drapes.

The living room is bright and airy, thanks to the vaulted ceiling and an abundance of windows. Love the rug!

Not your cookie cutter white kitchen! I especially love the glass mosaic backsplash tile.

This combination mudroom, laundry room, and pet-washing station is straight out of my dreams!

Upstairs are two distinct bedrooms, and a shared bath with laundry en suite.

Walls are painted Hallowed Hush by Olympic Paint.

The bathroom complements both bedrooms with its pretty palette. The shimmery backsplash tile (Lunada Bay Rainbow Pearl) made me gasp!

Classic nautical style up in the third floor bunkroom. The built-in beds are fantastic.

Most of the bedding, rugs, window treatments and accessories are from Serena & Lily, including the fun hanging chair.

More Serena & Lily in the nautical-inspired bathroom. Loving the toile wallpaper and mirror!

These steps lead to a super fun game room located above the garage.

Lots of places to relax and entertain outside.

What’s a beach house without an outdoor shower?!

Oh yes, I’ll be pinning these garage doors.

There’s still so much left to see…check out more photos, learn all of the sources, watch videos or take interactive tours (love those!), just head on over to This Old Home next!

The old creations are our new trendy style. I can see the balance in the vintage and the contemporary look over. Perfectly finished with the colour combination and accessories. It is pulling out all the memories u from our brain. Especially I loved the pieces of furniture and the organization throughout the home look.
