Charla Ray Interior Design

January 31, 2018

If there’s one thing I want to do after seeing this bright and beautiful Portland, Oregon home by Charla Ray Interior Design, it’s go and buy several gallons of Sherwin-Williams “Dewy” and start painting my entire house! Inspired by her clients’ stunning plate above, the talented designer used the airy paint color throughout most of the Colonial home as a backdrop for vibrant pattern and fresh color. The result is a happy, energetic home perfect for the homeowners and their three-year-old twins. I’m loving the southern flair…not an accident as the wife is originally from Virginia and brought her southern tastes along with her. The nods to the coast had me at hello too! Continue on for more photos by Lincoln Barbour…..

The gorgeous Ann Sacks backsplash tile provides big wow factor, doesn’t it?!

Love this light-filled foyer so much…the runner from Stark, incredible Currey & Co chandelier and door (painted Sherwin-Williams “Hazel”) are perfection!

If I could recreate this entire bathroom, I would in a heartbeat. The Ann Sacks tile looks amazing with the Sherwin-Williams “Dewy” walls and Benjamin Moore “Hale Navy” vanity.

Sea-inspired style in the twins’ room, thanks in part to the Thibaut Jelly Fish wallpaper and pillows covered in Kravet’s Decowave fabric.

Yet another dreamy bathroom! The tilework here is fantastic. Again we have Sherwin-Williams “Dewy” but customized to be a bit more teal.

Per usual, you do not disappoint! This is what a I imagine a coastal home should look like. Any idea where that wall piece can be found? It looks like the inside of a shell.

Hi! I am the homeowner. My husband and I bought the plate in New Orleans at a gallery that is no longer in business. The piece isn’t signed either. I fell in love with it and had to have it.

Hi, Erin. Lots of mouth-wateringly beautiful things in this house. I don’t know about the tiles in the kitchen backsplash, though. Themselves they are beautiful but they seem like their scale is way to big. It just seems a bit overpowering to me.
I love the twins’ room, though. I like twin beds arranged like they have them. I have twin grandsons who are seven and live with me with their mom. We are planning to fix one of my rooms as a bedroom for them and I really like the idea of arranging the beds the they are in this post.

Also, I was looking at the Everything Turquoise listings and I am seriously in love with Vienne mirror. Oh, my gosh, it is so, so lovely. Doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, either. I want it!

Thanks for this very beautiful post, Erin. Such eye candy!

I just stumbled upon this post and couldn’t help but swoon! Stunning. When it comes to the kitchen backsplash, what are the exact specifics on color and finish? After looking myself, I cant figure out what was chosen for your room. Thank you so much!

What a beautiful home…thank you for the color inspiration! May I ask how you customized the Dewy into a little more teal in that last picture? I LOVE it! Thank you
