We’re continuing our tour of the incredible Mpls.St.Paul Magazine ASID MN 2015 Showcase Home, located right here in Minneapolis, Minnesota! In case you missed it on Friday, we already saw most of the main level living areas of this coastal-inspired dream home. 27 mega-talented ASID members worked on the home, along with Great Neighborhood Homes–one of my favorite builders! They collaborated with the homeowners, the Lacek family, water-lovers who dreamed of having a coastal chic home that reminded them of their time spent living in the Caribbean.

There are chic nods to the beach all throughout the home! We’ll start with the kitchen, designed by Erin Botz of Great Neighborhood Homes, with its amazing herringbone ceiling made of rustic reclaimed wood reminiscent of driftwood! The gorgeous Cambria countertops and backsplash, and the fun Schumacher wallpaper in the pantry in sand and sea tones both give off a wave-like vibe too. And how fabulous are the Urban Electric lanterns?? And the striped barstools?! Seriously. Such a dream kitchen!

The same designer also created the awesome little desk area right next to the kitchen. This was one of my favorite areas of the entire home! The chair fabric (Duralee) and the window treatment (Cowtan & Tout) totally stole my heart, as did the dreamy custom cabinet color!

Opening up right next to the kitchen was the dramatic dining room designed by Bonnie Birnbaum and Angela Parker. The unique blue and white wall mural by Area Environments totally stopped me in my tracks and looked amazing with the chic slipcovered chairs! Loved that awesome driftwood orb chandelier too! You can’t see from the pics, but opposite the mural wall were more big sliding doors (and more of those fantastic Phantom Screens). Basically that entire wall opened up to the pool area!

Like any dream home of mine, this one had a large, functional mudroom, designed by Annie Tropple of Blend Interior Design (who also created the nearby hall powder bath). In a genius move, she used corrugated steel in a white powder-coated finish as wainscoting. Talk about durable! And I love it paired with the wallpaper! She also kept the family pup in mind here too, with doggy dishes that pulled out and a little doggy door!

Lastly we have Renae Keller to thank for the beautiful foyer, stairway and hallway! Easily another one of my favorite areas of the home, and one of the most personalized to the family! The blue bike, for example, the family found at a hardware store by their cabin. The sign next to it is a replica from one of their favorite restaurants on Anguilla. And how about that incredible collage of family portraits from Murals Your Way in the hallway? I also loved that built-in stairway bench, perfectly situated for the girls to watch for their carpool pick-up!

Renae Keller also designed the coastal-inspired bath, conveniently located right outside the master bedroom. (An upstairs laundry?! Another dream of mine!) Susan, the homeowner, was all about barn doors, especially ones painted in pretty turquoise hues! (This one is Florida Keys by Benjamin Moore.) How perfect is the Aquarium wallpaper here?!

For even more photos, check out Michele Skinner’s blog…she toured the home with me and captured a ton of beautiful images! And come back tomorrow for a final look at the home. I’ll be sharing the bedrooms, bathrooms, basement and front porch…all dream spaces for sure! And I like mentioned before, if you have any source questions–just ask!
