Guest Blogger: Nicki of Vitalic Photo

October 15, 2012

Hi there, my name is Nicki and as of now I’m a full time wedding and portrait photographer (Vitalic Photo if you’re curious)… however I began my career as an interior designer and I’m finding that the desire to design just does not. go. away. I’m constantly picking areas in my house to “re-do” and about once a week my husband comes home from work to rearranged furniture, rugs, artwork, etc. or new pillows, accessories and end tables. Last fall we enclosed our porch into a sunroom/office/playroom and Erin (love herrrr) featured it on this amazing blog in turquoise land, here’s a photo in case you missed it.

I recently decided to re-do my dining room area and when I sent her the finished photos, she said she loved them and wanted me to guest blog about it! So here we are!

I thought I’d include a before photo as well as my inspiration pictures (images from Pinterest of course, click HERE to follow my pinning obsession) and of course the final photos. Now excuse the quality of this before photo… I used my iPhone for two reasons, #1 it was quick and easy, #2 it will make the finished photos look better! : )

Whenever I decide to redo a room I always scour the web for ideas. It could be a general feeling I’m going for, exact ideas I want to use or similar pieces I want to look for. So here is a little collection of images that I came across on Pinterest.

And now onto the final space! I decided to keep our dining room table because the size and color was perfect, and I had just purchased the console from Kirkland’s. I have been in love with the Macau chairs from Ballard for as long as I can remember and decided it was finally time for us to be together. The light fixture from Crate and Barrel was the perfect size and the rest of the accessories helped tie the space together!

So anyway I hope you enjoyed my little room redo. Thank you to Erin for allowing me to share it! I recently started a little blog I use to document my interior design findings and obsessions, check out Cute & Co. if you’d like to follow along. : )

Can you share the color of the yellow walls? Very pretty and soft. Also, where did you get that mirror?

Love what you've done with your dining room – what a transformation! So peaceful. Assuming you are responsible for the photography as well? A job well done!

love the colors in the dining room. However, I can't get past the living room pic though. it looks like a ruffled shower curtain hanging above the sofa. Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't look right.

Iโ€™m Erin and I am obsessed with the color turquoise. I started this blog to collect inspirational photos I find of fabulous rooms that feature all of the lovely shades of my favorite color. For even more turquoise, visit my shopping blog Everything Turquoise!
