Tobi Fairley Interior Design

August 1, 2012

Not only were the owners of this colorful Monticello, Arkansas home fortunate enough to inherit a beautiful home filled with wonderful old furniture, but also to work with designer Tobi Fairley in modernizing the traditional space! They had a lot of the antiques refinished or reupholstered, and added new pieces to update the space and make it functional for the active, young family. I love all the bright fabrics, fun patterns and colorful rugs with both! Aren’t both those girls’ rooms particularly dreamy?! The beds are amazing!! Read all about the home and see more photos taken by Nancy Nolan over at At Home in Arkansas!

Erin, this house is beautiful! My favorite is the turquoise and orange living/dining room. The room is so bright from all the windows already so the colors really shine. The patterns used are also so playful but all fit together so well. I could see myself spending many hours in this fun room! Great post!!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this! Love the hint of brown in the bedroom. And love the pop of orange in the sitting room – especially that ottoman. The natural colored sofa anchors the room nicely. Gotta find some turquoise houndstooth fabric now…Thanks for sharing.

I like the turquoise and orange(a lot of fun) but the shade of pink is too much for me.

Color makes spaces look so alive and happy in a way that neutrals never can. The spirit responds to a happy environment with joy and lightness!

Erin, What a fun story! We love your blog and Tobi Fairley too. Reading your post and seeing all these amazing rooms filled with Hickory Chair furniture was such an honor for us. We love how Tobi took heirloom Hickory Chair pieces and mixed them with new Hickory Chair pieces for her client creating updated inspirational rooms. It just goes to show that classic things never go out of style!
