Leila’s Happy Haven

November 1, 2010

I spend a lot of time looking at beautiful rooms online, but it’s not too often I see ones that make me as happy as this room. And then to know it was designed by ten year-old Leila, the daughter of Velvet & Linen blogger Brooke Giannetti makes me even happier! After first finding the perfect floral rug at Anthro, she was inspired to choose Farrow and Ball’s “Blue Ground” for the walls. It makes a great background for displaying Leila’s colorful artwork. Don’t you love the sofa, chair and ottoman?? And hello there, dreamy alcove! *sigh* I just know all of her friends want to hang out at her house now! (I know I do!) There are so many other fabulous details to read about, so head on over to Velvet & Linen for more!

That's incredible! I would have no qualms about letting her decorate my house! Is she for hire? 🙂 I love the couch, it looks so comfortable. And the art steals the show–in the best way possible. I just love it!

    Wow Erin!
Leila and I are so honored, thrilled, humbled to have her room featured on your blog.
When Leila and I started searching for iideas for her room your site was one of our first stops.
You always have the best inspiration! It's absolutely surreal to actually have Leila's room here to inspire your readers!
Thank you from the both of us.

I have a dear friend named Leila, aged 5, she is also very creative! It must be something with the name! The Leila who designed this room did a very good job, I am quite impressed with her skills. I LOVE the wall color, and THAT ALCOVE (*swoon!* – I just want to curl up with my kitties and a Jane Austen book, and read, sip tea, then nap and dream of Mr. Darcy!). However, the artwork on the wall just stole my heart – it is so precious! Good job Miss Leila!

And good job Miss Erin for bringing us this delightful room!

I love this room! What a great use of space and color. That little nook looks so cozy. I want one for myself! What a dream to cozy up there with friends or a good book. I also love the way they displayed Leila's artwork. It is a simple display but it has such impact!

Well, I'd already seen this room on Velvet & Linen's blog, but then I found your blog on their blog and so on and so on. I am originally from Minnesota, though I've now been in New England more than half of my life. I have to ask you HOW do you do it? Manage all these blogs I mean? I run my own business and started blogging in the spring and boy it's a lot of work (and I only have ONE blog). You have a lovely blog here and I've followed you, maybe you'll find time (don't know how) to check mine out and consider following me back 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration!
