Guest Blogger: Janell from Isabella & Max Rooms

November 24, 2010

Thanks for inviting me to be a guest blogger today Erin! I love visiting House of Turquoise to see what turquoise delights are being featured, it really is one of the happiest and most beautiful colors there are. I am such a fan of this color that is has made its way into many of the rooms in our home, including Isabella’s Girls Dream Bedroom…No Boys Allowed! Shades of turquoise were used on the walls, headboard, bedding and chair.

It was also the perfect color to paint a fun little footstool, accented with Rub ‘n Buff and covered with a fun fur fabric.

It is also the color of fabric I selected to use when having a pair of slipper chairs reupholstered.

If painting walls or covering chairs in turquoise is too big of a commitment, introducing it into a room through accessories is nearly always a good choice. This tray was painted using SW Watery paint and a favorite geometric design.

Finally, why not incorporate turquoise into the holiday decor color scheme? Last year I used turquoise ornaments to dress up a wreath, the mantel and staircase banister, and I’m getting ready to pull them out again!

Thanks again for having me Erin, and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

The footstool is inspired, but something tells me I'd be more likely to get away with the slipper chairs in my home 🙂

Very stylish and pleasant. And a proof that one doesn't need to go pink to make a feminine space.

Where do I begin? I love sooo many things about this great bedroom. The wall paper is contemporary call to art deco motifs of the past and it is paired perfectly with the design of the curtains. The color combination screams "happy girl"…but I would also like to say: this bedroom could possibly work for any female…at any age.
