There's so much love and life in this Manhattan Beach bungalow photographed by Victoria Pearson featured in the new Country Living. The home was designed by architect Lewin Wertheimer and brought to life by the homeowners Chip and Bethany Herwegh. (He's a prop-maker, she's a costume designer–how cool is that?) You might know Bethany from her delightful blog The Glamorous Housewife. She's been a faithful reader of mine for many years, and I'm truly honored to know she frequently referred to my ... View Post
Hillary Thomas + Jeff Lincoln
I'm sure you guys have all drooled over this Washington, D.C. town house designed by Hillary Thomas and Jeff Lincoln from the May issue of House Beautiful, but they were so "House of Turquoise", of course I have to share them here too! Where do I even begin?! How about the kitchen with the patterned tile from Ann Sacks! Those fab tiles actually influenced the palette throughout the rest of the house. And let me tell you, I cannot stop drooling over that living room! Those to-die-for turquoise ... View Post

London city streets are already lined with British flags, store windows are showing their patriotic red, white and blue union jack colors, and neighborhoods are busy planning block-long street parties. So what is the most famous British tradition you can think of? Last week we saw the fabulous turquoise and lilac girl's room in this year's Pasadena Showcase House of Design, and today we're visiting the boy's room by Santa Barbara-based interior designer Debra Lynn Henno with photography by Alexander Vertikoff. The loft bed and built-in dresser & desk pre-existed and were built years ago to conceal part of a stairwell when the owners did an addition to the home. I love what Debra did with it! How cute is the colorful boatwood siding the bed? It was all ... View Post
