Guest Blogger: Kristie from The Decorologist

September 21, 2012

Hi all! I'm Kristie Barnett, also known as The Decorologist. My design blog is all about teaching and inspiring regular people about decorating, choosing color, and creating a home that makes their heart sing. Erin was so kind to invite me to share a home I recently designed for a client here in Nashville, TN. My client has a heart for anything shabby, chippy, and related to the seashore. Her flea market finds just weren't gelling with her traditional suburban home, so she called me in ... View Post

Guest Blogger: Amanda from Dixie Delights

September 20, 2012

I'm Amanda from Dixie Delights and I'm *delighted* to slip into Erin's turquoise heels and entertain y'all for a day while she's away!! I mean, hanging out over here is positively one of my favorite ways to spend a morning. Earlier this summer we finished up a porch addition that quickly become our favorite "room" of the lot! We use this space from sun up till waaaaay past sun down - having coffee, dining, playing games, reading, listening to music, cocktailing, entertaining, roasting s'mores ... View Post

Solomon+Bauer+Giambastiani Architects

September 18, 2012

Located in Lee, Massachusetts, this cozy 1916 stone cottage was designed and restored by Solomon+Bauer+Giambastiani Architects. It's the guest house on a private estate, and by the looks of it, I'd say they're some pretty lucky guests! Although the home definitely has the modern touches we've come to love, it still has all the warmth and charm of a home from that period. I especially love all the lead glass windows and door panels, which were were lovingly repaired and restored by the firm. You ... View Post

Historical Concepts + Steven Gambrel – Part Two

September 17, 2012

So this is the spectacular loft of the home from Friday!! Designed by Historical Concepts and Steven Gambrel for the Cottage Living Idea House, this upstairs is all about fun! I don't think I've ever seen anything more comfy cozy than the pillow-lined nook with the built-in daybed! All the fabric there is Sunbrella, so you know it's totally durable...even the dogs could join in on story time! The turquoise sliding barn door is my other favorite detail, I'd love to find a place for that in my ... View Post

Historical Concepts + Steven Gambrel – Part One

September 14, 2012

You may recognize this gem, it was Cottage Living magazine’s first Idea House. (Anyone else miss that magazine?!) The Bridgehampton cottage was designed by Historical Concepts out of Peachtree City, Georgia, with the interior design by Steven Gambrel. More than anything, I love the sunny breakfast nook with the comfy banquette. The combo of the red chairs and blue walls is fantastic, and I love the collection of bottles! The earthy colors paired with the light blue in the living room is great ... View Post
