Headed to Tybee!

September 19, 2012

A dream of mine is about to come true: I am headed to TYBEE ISLAND!!! Ever since I learned about interior designer, preservationist and color enthusiast Jane Coslick, I’ve been dying to go to the quirky little island! (Just read these posts, this is a long time coming!) Not only that, but we are going to hit up Atlanta, Savannah AND Charleston! Do you know how excited I am?! What’s even more perfect is that we’ll be celebrating my birthday and our anniversary while we’re away…I can’t think of a better way!!

If you love Jane as much as I do, I’m sure you already read her wonderful blog (where these images are all from). Also check out New Cottage Style, a new book from BHG that features three of Jane’s projects!

I’ll have some great guest bloggers filling in while I’m away, but definitely count on some Southern-filled posts after I get back…I’m bringing my camera! See you guys back here later next week, or follow me on Instagram or Twitter to see what I’m up to until then!

Love turquoise? Visit my shopping blog Everything Turquoise…updated several times throughout the day! Check out Decor by Color for even more color-themed shopping!

I follow Jane's blog. I love her sense of whimsy and use of bold color. I would love to see the small cottages in person. Have fun!

You will love them all! Tybee is so relaxing, Charleston is pure charm (try TOAST in Charleston on meeting street. Great food, well priced, unlimited mimosas.) and Savannah is a great place too. Enjoy!

I have stayed in one of the cottages pictured! I even spotted Jane in a restaurant, but she was busy with folks from a magazine shoot and I was so starstruck I couldn't interrupt her to say hello 🙂 Have so much fun on Tybee!

When you ran one of Jane Coslick's houses a while back, we were inspired and went to Tybee Island and stayed at the Key Lime Parrot – it was one of the best vacations that we've ever had!! We found lots of great little restaurants on Tybee. I read a few of the books by local author Mary Kay Andrews (fun romances) while we were there and it was a fun way to learn a little of the history of the area.

    Enjoy your trip!!

Enjoy Erin, We had one of our best vacations in that area. Jekyll Island, Savannah and St. Augustine. It's such fun to go back in time.

You may want to consider a side trip to historic Beaufort SC – its on your way to/from Charleston.
Beaufort is a civil war era village right on the water with tons of antebellum mansions, yummy food and cool shops.
