You may recognize this gem, it was Cottage Living magazine’s first Idea House. (Anyone else miss that magazine?!) The Bridgehampton cottage was designed by Historical Concepts out of Peachtree City, Georgia, with the interior design by Steven Gambrel. More than anything, I love the sunny breakfast nook with the comfy banquette. The combo of the red chairs and blue walls is fantastic, and I love the collection of bottles! The earthy colors paired with the light blue in the living room is great too, so soothing and cozy-feeling. And what Hamptons retreat would be complete without a fabulous pool! On Monday we’ll be touring the upstairs with more photos from Marco Ricca and Cottage Living, including a spectacular loft area I know you’ll LOVE!
Many thanks to Historical Concepts for providing me with source info, including the paint colors listed down below! If you’re wondering about anything else, leave a comment and I’ll look it up.
Now it’s time to announce the winner of the $100 Coach Barn gift certificate!
Coach Barn wants for all of you to be winners though! If you go to their site and click on “Get Coupon Now For Liking Us On Facebook”, you’ll receive a special discount! (I have my eyes on a certain Oly chandelier!)
Happy weekend everyone! 🙂

wonderful home! and yes I miss Cottage Living magazine a lot…hope you are doing great Erin & Happy Weekend!!
I too miss Cottage Living, missed this home. Love the breakfast room for the same reasons, the chairs really pop, great color combo.
And I love the upstairs bedroom with the shiny sloped ceiling, so light filled, similarly great colors.
I'm with you-love the red chairs and the blue walls. Stunning opener.
I just ran into Steven Gambrel yesterday at Lee Jofa, he is so striking and TALL! I wanted to peak into his bag to see what samples he picked but couldn't get up the courage! Love his style, great post!!

I'm right there with you Erin…that first image of the breakfast area is a show stopper! Love every piece and detail within that room!
I too am inspired by the red chairs in the top photo but also by the red trim occasional chair in the master bedroom x
I miss that magazine a lot! I received it from the very first issue through the last and occasionally still look through them. Everything still looks fresh & current even though they're a few years old now. There's no other publication around that measured up to that one. 🙁
The red chairs! They are from Lane Venture. Dining Chair (80000-45) in Coral (285) from the Excursions Cameroon collection.
A million thanks to Dawn at Historical Concepts for digging it up!
I would know a Steven Gambrel room anywhere! He is my favorite interior designer! Love that pop of red!
If you could find out a source for the bamboo canopy bed I would be most appreciative. Love your blog.
OM…I have the oak table…now…I do luv those red chairs…think I "smell paint in my future." franki
What a beautiful blog. 🙂
Hi Anon- the bamboo canopy bed is was from Lane Venture, but sadly they don't make it anymore. 🙁
Gorgeous interiors and I love the area overlooking the pool! Stunning!
I love your blog I check it all the time. What was the wall color in the bedroom with the canopy bed?
I think that would be perfect for my room! Thanks for all the great stuff you post!
do you by any chance know the color of the dining room? looks like a pretty coral color.

Love Steven Gambrel – I swoon for those lacqered ceilings!! Thanks for sharing!
The canopy bedroom is painted Wythe Blue by BM (of course, LOVE that color!)
First – thank you for sharing this gorgeous house!
Second – wood, wood planking on walls or ceilings, beautiful wood still makes a house sing and decorating sizzle!
Third – color, the palette of this house makes me want to be there.
Great job Steven G.!

So…. anyone great with paint/color matching? I have both wythe and stratton blue on the walls in my home and a set of four flea-market find chairs that I would love to paint the same red as the chairs in the post. Can anyone recommend a red that is a close match?
love love love this!
