Imagine my delight when we happened upon this incredible old building!! Located in downtown Savannah, The Pirates' House is a historic restaurant and tavern established in 1753. (Had we not just eaten a yummy lunch at Paula Deen's restaurant, you can bet I would have stepped inside for a bite!) The historic building is located a block from the Savannah River and was built as an inn for visiting seamen. ... View Post
John Oetgen
I'll take a dose of fresh mountain air any day! It surprised me to learn that a pair of aquamarine lamps inspired the color palette of this beautiful mountain home by Atlanta designer John Oetgen. The color is more obvious in the bedroom (painted Palladian Blue) and dining room, but I love how it's used in the living room as well! Compared to the dark-paneled rooms, I just love how open and airy the bedroom feels...I think that's where I ... View Post
Turquoise in the Lowcountry
Talk about curb appeal! Here is your first installment of vacation pics! The Lowcountry between Charleston and Savannah is filled with some of the prettiest homes I've ever seen! The cutest front porches and piazzas with their Haint Blue ceilings, the biggest live oaks and pretty palmetto palm trees that seem to perfectly frame every home, and ... View Post
James Radin
Yesterday we saw a quick peek into an amazing beach home designed by James Radin, the LA-based designer who, in addition to some pretty incredible homes, has also worked on several film sets we all love: Something’s Gotta Give, The Holiday and It’s Complicated. I just adore this Broad Beach home he designed! Definitely has that relaxed, inviting beach house vibe that I'm constantly drawn to. Did you see the kitchen?! I wish there was another ... View Post
Velvet Plush Pumpkins Giveaway!
Oh my goodness, my turquoise-loving heart is soaking up every inch of this room! The fabulous space photographed by Annie Schlechter featured in the September issue of Coastal Living was designed by James Radin, the same designer who also happened to contribute to the decor of everyone's favorite Something's Gotta Give. I just love how the otherwise neutral palette is brought to life with pops of turquoise. Matthew Gleason did a terrific job styling the shot! I'd move right in in a ... View Post
Dayley Design
Where does the gushing begin?! This lovely home belongs to Dayme Walther of Dayley Design, an interior design and events company out of Dallas, Texas. With a true passion for our favorite color, Dayme incorporated turquoise in every room of her home, photographed here by Paige Walker. She and her husband just finished a 6 month-long renovation of their home. Actually her father did the entire renovation! He moved in with them as they took the bathroom, kitchen and laundry room down to the studs. ... View Post
Phoebe Howard
I am back from my vacation down South–rejuvenated from the beach and inspired by all that I saw! I took so many photos, but I need to get them on the computer and organized before I can share some with y'all! One of the last places we stopped on our trip was Phoebe Howard's store in Atlanta. I'm a die-hard fan of her work, so it was a must-see while I was in the area. I can't wait to share with you some photos! Until then, I thought you'd adore this recent client project from her website. ... View Post
Guest Blogger: Camille from The Vintique Object
Hello, Turquoise Lovers. I'm Camille from The Vintique Object. I'm thrilled to pieces to be guest posting for Erin today because House of Turquoise was the first design blog I ever visited! That is a true story and let me tell you, I was entranced! In addition to my own design blog, I've recently started a little decorating/organizing business. I am excited to share a recent project -- a little girls' bedroom belonging to six year-old twins. Here is how the room looked before: And ... View Post
