I’m so excited to be sharing this incredible beach house on Figure Eight Island designed by Lindsey Cheek of Gathered–a full-service interior design firm and lifestyle shop in Wilmington, North Carolina. The dream home is filled with so many beautiful and inspiring details captured by Mille Holloman and Amanda Holloman, I’ve decided to spread the tour over several posts starting with the colorful and collected living room and dining room. The home sits in a unique spot on the island where there are both beach and sound views (lucky ducks!). Lindsey wanted to pull in and complement the nature that surrounded the home while tying in bright colors that the client requested. Her expert layering of pattern, texture and color couldn’t be more perfect!
I’m digging the relaxed, boho-chic vibe of the space. Not only is everything beautiful, it’s functional and durable too. A must with kids, grandkids and pups in the picture!
Here’s a close-up of that gorgeous fireplace surround…I can’t stop drooling over the turquoise tile!
How cool is this side table?! I’ve never seen one like that!
The chairs, octagon table, and of course the Regina Andrew chandelier…love it all!
How dreamy is the Vetrazzo recycled glass counter top (in Bretagne Blue) with the turquoise subway tile?!
This home was a rental that the family purchased after a fun summer stay. Being a rental for so many years meant that every surface needed to be touched. Refinish wood floors, new carpet, new paint, new furniture…. new everything! So chances are if you love something, it’s available to purchase through Lindsey’s design studio Gathered. Check out the online store or contact them for info on anything you’re interested in!
And because we all love a little before-and-after….
What a transformation! Can’t wait to show you more!
Go on to Day Two!

I think this is my favorite post ever! I love the white woodwork mixed with the natural floors, rattan, and bamboo. The deep blue turquoise and red, the turquoise subway tile, the dining area- is all fantastic!

Good lord, that BEFORE! MY RETINAS! It looks like a circus house with the lime green and orange-y wood. The AFTER is such a breath of fresh air! Love it.

I would love to know the name of that tile used on the fireplace surround! It’s a perfect turquoise blend. If you are able to provide that information, I would be grateful.
