I’m all for a coastal home any day of the week but when it’s located right here in the Midwest–even better! Interior designer Carly Visser of CVI Design created a seaside retreat in a suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan using natural fibers and light breezy materials accented by cool colors with pops of corals and botanical themed accents. Featured in the Spring 2017 Parade of Homes, the dream home (captured by Photos By Kaity) was built by Dan Vis Builders and is tailored to the client’s current “empty-nesters” lifestyle. Beautiful and inspiring details fill the entire home….and just wait until you see the backyard!
Sherwin-Williams SW6477 “Tidewater” flows throughout most of the main floor. Loving the island painted Benjamin Moore “Azure Water” 677.
Fabulous butler’s pantry and walk-in pantry.
Benjamin Moore’s “Azure Water” pops up again on the mudroom lockers.
This laundry room is such a delight! The colorful wallpaper (Thibaut’s Kelp) adds a distinct coastal touch.
Gorgeous wood ceiling accented with large timber beams.
Such fun pattern play going on in the living room!
The master bathroom and closet are painted Benjamin Moore #470 Par Four…such a serene color.
Beautiful custom railing!
Loving the two-tone cabinets and backsplash tile on the wet bar. (Lower cabinets are painted Benjamin Moore HC-159 Philipsburg Blue.)
Sherwin-Williams SW6477 “Tidewater” paired with SW6612 “Ravishing Coral”. Cute paddle headboards!
Sherwin-Williams SW6477 “Tidewater” and SW6494 “Lakeshore”. Love it with the duvet cover!
There’s a retractable screen that disappears when you don’t need it…so cool!
To see inside all of the nooks and crannies, take a virtual tour of the home here. And be sure to see more beautiful work by CVI Design over here next. Follow them on Houzz and Facebook for even more inspiration! (If you have any questions about any of the other paint colors, just ask…Carly Visser generously supplied me with the entire paint schedule.)

this is just lovely! I like that they went with warmer tones, even with those pale colors – you know how Midwestern winters can be and that warm spectrum helps keep the chill out!

This is a lovely home, but I have a really hard time believing these folks are “empty nesters” — what on earth did their home look like when all the kids were there? This place looks like a resort! They must be very wealthy. They do have nice taste.

Again, turquoise love 🙂 Wow I can’t get tired of this colour and I never would. Like I said before in your last post, I too have a turquoise obsession, Erin. I love all of the pictures. They’re lovely as always. All the rooms are flawlessly perfect, Erin.
