I’m endlessly inspired by the work of Kate Lester, a Los Angeles-based interior designer known for creating spaces that are luxurious, livable and unique. I was immediately drawn to one of her recent projects, this Cape Cod-style home in Manhattan Beach, California captured beautifully by photographer Amy Bartlam. It’s brimming with unexpected colors, fun patterns and textures, not to mention a subtle coastal vibe I can’t get enough of! Each room is comfortable and inviting, yet sophisticated and full of character. I love how rare and unique pieces (that are also pet-and teenager-friendly!) mingle with the homeowner’s global-inspired finds for a look that’s collected and layered. I can’t even pick a favorite space, but the living room and kitchen are definitely up there…the purples and blues are fabulous! I absolutely adore the dining room too; the shell chandelier is a total showstopper! You can read an article all about the home over at Southbay Magazine, and definitely check out Kate Lester’s portfolio to see even more of her inspiring designs. And if you’re lucky enough to be in the Hermosa Beach area, be sure to visit the designer’s brand new homewares shop Kate Lester Home-it looks amazing!
