Tracy Rivers

August 3, 2011

If only every granddaughter could be so lucky!! Can you imagine the fun designer and artist Tracy Rivers of Little Rock’s Angelfish Studios must have had when creating this luxury retreat for a 7-year old girl? Since it’s not an everyday room for her, her grandparents wanted the space to be over the top, where she can be inspired during her visits. The walls are incredible here…hand-troweled Venetian plaster with a sparkly scroll design painted on the walls. And talk about shimmer, the tiles on the floor in the bathroom and miniature tiles in the shower are pearlescent with glitter grout. Glitter grout! See more of this beautiful space photographed by Nancy Nolan over at At Home in Arkansas!

Seven year-old? Before I read that I was thinking that I might like it! Maybe that's just the kid in me? But a girl? Maybe not!

It's great for the lucky little grand daughter though!

really pretty! How can I help but love something that combines my two obsessions – Venetian plaster and blue! I went over to the article this came from, and they made an important point there when you are using venetian plaster — make sure the trim goes with what you have done.

what a gorgeous room! I did something in a similar vein for our 8yr old granddaughter whom we don't see very often ( 'her' room is not nearly as gorgeous, alas)…..and only afterwards did she inform me that she did not like 'girly' stuff – she wanted SPIDERMAN!

    I almost cried.

    LOL!

What a bright, cheerful room. No wonder why you love this color so much. I just love when my clients break away from the neutrals.

From one decorative artisan to another, Tracy Rivers did a great job with the venetian plaster. What a lucky little girl!
