Guest Blogger: Olivia from Lacquered Life

April 26, 2011

Hello House of Turquoise readers, thanks for stopping by my Philadelphia apartment! I write a blog called Lacquered Life, where I share my musings on interior design, architecture and historic preservation. My studio is about 12 x14, save the window wells at the dormers. Although a tiny space, I like to think of it as my little treasure chest, where I can cram in all of the little things that I love.

Thanks so much for looking at these pictures of my teeny tiny turquoise apartment, and I hope that you all will stop by and see me at Lacquered Life!

Lovely studio! Wonderful decorating job, it looks amazing and doesn't look so small. The walls and accessories in turquoise rock. I really like the kitchen towel rack hung from the stove. Is is magnetic?

What you've packed into one small space is nothing short of phenomenal. I often think about how I will need to downsize in a few years to a retirement condo and your space gives me great inspiration for living small beautifully. Thank you!

I saw metals lanterns in my local home decor store and I wanted to buy it so bad but I had no idea what to do with it. Thanks for the idea.

Olivia, your home is fantastic. I love the first photo – what a great room and great shape. is that small door a closet? I also love the mismatched pictures on the wall, they work amazingly together.

I am absolutely so flattered with everyone's comments! I am so thrilled that some of you have already stopped by Lacquered Life. To answer a question, yes that is a closet! and, I love lanterns, I have three different ones in my little space – they are great when entertaining for mood lighting! xo Olivia

The apartment is beautiful and comfortably sophisticated. I love the desk shown in the bedroom. I have looked everywhere for a desk like that one for my guest house and have had no success. Can you offer any details on the beautiful saw horse desk?
