Today is a big day! It's Week 1 of the One Room Challenge, the 6-week room makeover hosted by Linda of Calling it Home. I was honored when Linda asked me if I'd like to participate! I've followed previous challenges and have always been so inspired! For those of you not familiar with the ORC, basically it's a group of 20 bloggers who commit to decorating one room over a 6-week period while documenting the transformation and checking in each Wednesday with their progress. As you know (new ... View Post

Guest Blogger: Amanda from Dixie Delights
Hi House of Turquoise fans – I’m Amanda from Dixie Delights and I’m so excited to be back today sharing my dining room!! This room was 95% complete four years ago, so it goes without saying that the last 5% took quite a long time. That always seems to be the way about it though – the last few things take the longest to figure out but really seem to make the space. Here’s what the room looked like on move in day…a nicely sized, bright space with my favorite window in the house. ... View Post
Guest Blogger: Tanya from Dans le Lakehouse
Hello Aqua Aficionados, my name is Tanya and I'm from Dans le Lakehouse (formerly Dans le Townhouse). Like you, I'm a long-time reader and HUGE fan of House of Turquoise, so I'm especially thrilled to be a guest blogger. Anyone who reads my blog today, which chronicles the transformation of my diamond in the rough Lake Superior bungalow, would know right away that turquoise is my favorite colour. But when my Handy Hubby and I were transforming our last place, a sweet little ... View Post
Guest Blogger: Amanda from Dixie Delights
Ahhh... there's no place I'd rather be today than visiting the lovely House of Turquoise!! (Well, unless you count sitting on a sandy white beach staring at a turquoise sea). I'm Amanda from Dixie Delights and am thrilled to be filling in for Erin today and sharing my eight year old son's new room. Just for kicks, take a gander at the room on move in day. It had about as much vanity as a dust mop, what with its blue stained carpet, dark wood trim, outdated ceiling fan and ... View Post
Emily Gilbert Designs
I love the idea of a sunroom–a room dedicated entirely to relaxing! This one by Emily Gilbert Designs, an interior design firm based in Fort Worth, Texas, and photographed by Cgilly Designs is as dreamy as they come! Emily transformed it into such a light, fresh and airy space, it's hard to even imagine it as the dark space it once was with exposed brick and dark floors! I especially love the painted ceiling (Sherwin Williams Sea Salt in a semi-gloss finish!) The breakfast nook is ... View Post
Classy Clutter
I am so not a DIYer, so I'm especially impressed by Mallory and Savannah and their uber creative blog Classy Clutter! Mallory recently finished making over her living room (again!) and I'm loving what she did! The best part?? Get this....Mallory painted the walls, refinished the floors, made the curtains and many of the accessories, AND reupholstered all of the furniture–including the sofas, herself! *Mind blown* See more pics of the space, get all the details and check out tutorials on the ... Katelyn James Photography
If I wasn't already number one in the unofficial Katelyn James fan club, I certainly am after seeing her new morning room! The talented wedding photographer has an amazing eye for color and pattern, doesn't she?! Love the coral here with the Sea Salt walls, grey and turquoise, and how the fabulous curtain fabric pulls everything together perfectly! And best of all, it the room was done on a budget! You can see more pics and read all about the makeover over here! And to see Katelyn's gorgeous ... View Post
Sarah Crawford
I absolutely positively adore the Marblehead, Massachusetts home (and Frenchies!) belonging to Sarah Crawford of the blog Valentine, photographed so beautifully by White Loft Studio. If I had twin daughters, I'd totally do up the their spaces the exact same way...you know how I love my turquoise and pink! Some of my favorite things ever here like the turquoise Jenny Lind beds, Anthro wallpaper and adorable artwork–especially the Katie Daisy, I'm a big fan! Did I already mention the dogs?? Cannot ...
