I'm back from our vacation! We had a blast visiting Seattle, Vancouver and Seabrook, WA and I can't wait to show you guys some pics from where we stayed! I don't know about you, but I'm always even more inclined to peek inside homes after visiting a city, and this home above by Tammara Stroud Design happens to be in Seattle. We had fantastic weather while there, but I could see needing a bit of fun color inside to brighten your day when it's rainy out! The kitchen island is especially fabulous!! ... View Post
Guest Blogger: Tanya from Dans le Lakehouse
Hello Aqua Aficionados, my name is Tanya and I'm from Dans le Lakehouse (formerly Dans le Townhouse). Like you, I'm a long-time reader and HUGE fan of House of Turquoise, so I'm especially thrilled to be a guest blogger. Anyone who reads my blog today, which chronicles the transformation of my diamond in the rough Lake Superior bungalow, would know right away that turquoise is my favorite colour. But when my Handy Hubby and I were transforming our last place, a sweet little ... View Post
Guest Blogger: Amanda from Dixie Delights
Ahhh... there's no place I'd rather be today than visiting the lovely House of Turquoise!! (Well, unless you count sitting on a sandy white beach staring at a turquoise sea). I'm Amanda from Dixie Delights and am thrilled to be filling in for Erin today and sharing my eight year old son's new room. Just for kicks, take a gander at the room on move in day. It had about as much vanity as a dust mop, what with its blue stained carpet, dark wood trim, outdated ceiling fan and ... View Post
Guest Blogger: Renae Keller Interior Design
Hello House of Turquoise readers, I'm Renae from Renae Keller Interior Design and author of the blog Burn the Candles, where I write about everything from painting furniture to my love of color. I'm honored to be guest blogging for Erin today, who I sincerely thank for a) allowing me to worm my way into the H. O. T. world, and b) fueling our collective passion for the color turquoise. I, like many of you I'm sure, surround myself with as much turquoise as is socially acceptable--even my logo is ... View Post
Guest Blogger: Stephanie Kraus Designs
Hi there! This is Stephanie Kraus from Stephanie Kraus Designs filling in for Erin who is enjoying some vacation time with her lovely family. I want to say thanks to Erin for letting me guest post. I'm a HUGE fan of her blog and the color turquoise! The room I'm going to share today is a teenage girls bedroom. This lucky gal is the daughter of one of my clients and her bedroom makeover was a graduation present and a surprise and had to be completed in less than four weeks. Yikes. Oh, and ... View Post
Guest Blogger: Cristin from Simplified Bee
Hello House of Turquoise friends! I’m Cristin Bisbee Priest of Simplified Bee and am thrilled to be filling in for Erin while she is taking a much needed summer vacation with her family. Because the color turquoise is a personal fave, House of Turquoise was one of the first decor blogs I started following back in 2009. I’ve admired Erin’s ability to produce beautiful posts week after week for over seven years. She’s been such an inspiration for my own blog. A few years ago I had the pleasure of ... View Post
City Farmhouse
Another one of my favorite summer home tour stops was this gorgeous porch from Jennifer O'Brien of City Farmhouse. Her wraparound front porch on the coast of Long Island is nothing short of a dream! It's a little bit vintage, all sorts of happy and sprinkled with coastal touches! To top it off the makeover was done on a budget, coming in at just under $100! She reused everything she had, just gave it all a fresh coat of paint. And the cute sofa?? She actually made that herself! You can read all ... View Post
Fröken Turkos
I knew I landed on something special when I came across the Swedish interior designer and stylist Leonor Juhl Kristiansson. Get this...her company's name is Fröken Turkos or Miss Turquoise and her portfolio is abundant with our favorite color! This is her home above (photographed by Lina Ikse) located a bike ride away from the ocean in Billdal, Sweden. All of the white with colorful, cozy accents makes the home feel so inviting and cheerful, absolutely a place I'd want to call home myself! You ... View Post
