What’s better than having a pool in your backyard? Having a fabulous pool house to go along with it! Interior designer Cara Fineman of DAG Design, a firm focusing on residential interior design projects throughout the Greater Boston area, created this fun space for a family with two active young boys. Wanting to make the most of their large backyard and existing pool, they turned to the Wellesley-based designer as well as builder Ben Chirco of Chirco Land Development in Hopkinton, MA to add this gorgeous new freestanding pool house. They wanted it to feel like an extension of their home – casual and comfortable – a place where they could entertain friends and family during the summer. I’m loving the bright pops of color on the light, neutral base of white shiplap and light grey porcelain tile floor! Scroll on for more photos by Lisa Neighbors!

The Palecek coffee table and reclaimed beams on the ceiling add a great rustic touch to the space. The coral-inspired Currey & Co. chandelier is amazing too, especially custom painted in blue.

I adore the Abaco Stripe fabric from Quadrille on the chairs and the breezy blue rug from Steven King.

These vibrant abstract paintings by artist Carolyn Mackin are one of my favorite elements in the space! The colors couldn’t be more perfect.

Quadrille’s “Sigourney” wallpaper is a total showstopper in the pool house bath. Love the contrasting orange from the fab Oomph mirror!
