Tim Barber Ltd.

February 1, 2017

This beautiful home may be located in the San Francisco area, but it definitely has Southern sensibilities! Los Angeles-based architect Tim Barber and senior project manager Kirk Snyder worked with interior designer Tineke Triggs of Artistic Design for Living to create the Georgian-style farmhouse for a couple who wanted their new home to evoke the spirit of their childhood homes in the South. Big porches will do just that! Builder Erik Hughes did a fantastic job incorporating many period details, with intricate trim profiles, crown moldings and wainscots throughout the home. And I love how Tineke respected the architecture while putting a fresh spin on things. I mean, how great is the blue-painted woodwork in the dining room? The shades of blue woven throughout are perfection really, especially in the master suite! Swoon! You can read all about the home, learn sources and see more photos by Laura Hull over at Luxe Interiors + Design!

This house is truly STUNNING! It is virtually perfect, I could easily move right in just the way it is! I love how it’s very traditional, classic, and timeless but with a twist — that being the use of color and painted surfaces, vs. white and/or wood surfaces where one would usually expect them. The *only* thing I would change is the cabinet doors above the refrigerator — my OCD will not abide the thin/thick width of the refrigerator doors below cabinet doors that are both the same width! I’d have made the cabinet door above the refrigerator a single door with the same type of decorative molding/trim on it, but have it open like a garage door and put a door closing dampener on it.

Being that this home is in San Francisco, which is one of the top 5 most expensive places to live in the U.S., it’s obviously a multi-million dollar home, and they probably paid an absolute fortune for the land and to have the home built. This is a project that is way way WAY out of the league of your average blog reader!
