Meridian Design Build

February 24, 2017

This Rhode Island home is brimming with charm! Built by Meridian Custom Homes in collaboration with Red House Design & Drafting, the light-filled home (photographed by Nat Rea and styled by Janelle Photopoulos) is not only beautiful, it perfectly reflects the lifestyle of the family that lives there. Among other things, having a home that is environmentally clean was on their must-have list. (Not surprising since the homeowner, Erin, also owns Mama Bird, an eco-friendly baby and lifestyle store in Wakefield!) I’m just loving the farmhouse style, especially in the kitchen. There’s that mason jar chandelier again! The big table, breakfast nook and dutch door are all great too. As is the blue island of course! But what makes it extra special are the built-in compost compartments and removable metal bins for potted herbs–or ice when the couple entertains! So smart! Read all about the home over at Rhode Island Monthly!

Happy Weekend!

This house is stunning. They did a great job with balancing modern design and country farmhouse designs. The only thing that I would have changed is the color of the island. Personally, I would have gone for a more dark, rich blue. I feel as though a darker blue would help to balance out the stark white walls and cabinets. Thanks so much for the share.

I’m Erin and I am obsessed with the color turquoise. I started this blog to collect inspirational photos I find of fabulous rooms that feature all of the lovely shades of my favorite color. For even more turquoise, visit my shopping blog Everything Turquoise!
