Charmean Neithart Interiors

February 8, 2013

You know you have a special kitchen when Julia Child spent her childhood in the home! The current homeowner Kristin Harrison spent two years renovating the space inside the 1909 historic home located in Pasadena, California. She worked with interior designer Charmean Neithart and architect Warren Techentin to create a charming space with vintage authenticity combined with modern amenities! The real show-stopper for me is the beadboard ceiling, painted the most delightful shade of aqua (Benjamin Moore Bali)! Houzz had a terrific article all about the kitchen–including a ‘before’ shot and all the sources, along with more photos by Erika Bierman…so check that out here!

Have a great weekend! I’ll be thinking of everyone in the Northeast…stay safe in the storm!!

I DREAM of a huge kitchen like this! Deb Perelman the SMITTEN KITCHEN author proves however that you can make great food in a tiny kitchen, so I need to get over it!

I'm not kidding, but I was going to do this exact same thing to my ceiling, but with Palladian Blue paint. I was worried it might be too much, but I'm totally validated now (although I know my contractors will think I'm a crazy lady, as they do with all design-y things).
