Viscusi Elson Interior Design + Rutt of Los Altos

January 9, 2012

Be still my heart! Interior designer Gina Viscusi Elson worked with designer Melissa Nierman of the handcrafted cabinetry company Rutt of Los Altos to design this super-cute cottage kitchen. It’s such an inspirational space, as most of the kitchens I see in real life are usually around this size. (Though never this stylish!) I love the white cabinets and clean subway tile next to the pretty aqua paint color (Benjamin Moore Kensington Green #710). The colorful Company C rug brings in a whimsical, colorful touch! And I can’t get enough of that cute little dog!

The white cabinetry is stunning. But I really like the color of the hardwood floor. Not too orange – but a really soothing light brown. I'm not so sure I'd want the washer/dryer in the kitchen but I suppose if that is the only place to put them, it would be OK.

That rug is too beautiful to be in a kitchen! Well, in my kitchen anyway. It would be toast. Lovely space.

I have never seen Kensington Green on a wall, and I'm really liking it. I also love Company C rugs and this one really works well in this kitchen.

Really nice effect! Lovely color combinations and I like the placement of the windows over the sink and over the desk.

Normally, I don't like farmhouse style sinks, but this one blends in very nicely.

Looks to me as though the designers used the same cabinetry and hardware that they used in the layout shown in the Jan. 3rd post, or am I wrong? Popular style, I guess…

    Hello,

    You must like peaceful rooms!

When my husband & I stayed at the Iberostar in Punta Cana, our room was turquoise & like a coral or melon actually. It was so tropical. Everytime I see those colors I think of that vacation..
You have good taste. When I have worked with clients I have tried to get them to do this color…Everyone is afraid!
