Sunnyside Up – Cape San Blas, FL

June 30, 2016

I’m super excited to be sharing Sunnyside Up, a first tier vacation home in the beachside community of Seagrass on North Cape San Blas, Florida! The home belongs to Fran and Michael, longtime readers of my blog who actually used it (and my shopping blog!) for inspiration when decorating! Get this though…Michael is retired Army and is currently working in Iraq flying for the State Department. They have spent countless hours via Skype designing their new home constructed by Scott Carter of Beach House Builders of Port St. Joe! How cool is that?!

One of Fran’s favorite features of the home is the glass backsplash tile in the kitchen and master bath. (It’s Shaw Glass Expressions in Azure.) The antique sunburst stained glass windows in the living room, dining room, and the master bedroom are another favorite! Did you notice the weathervane? The antique turquoise glass balls were a purchased at Warrenton Antique Show in Texas. Michael painted the directional and arrow the turquoise color (and he also bravely climbed out the window onto the roof and mounted the weathervane!) Love it!

If you have any questions about anything else, Fran and Michael would be happy to answer! For rental info and to see more pics, go here!

Wonder who the manufacturer is of the turquoise tumblers with white inside that are shown in the kitchen pics, upper left side cabinet? They aren't on the Fiesta site, near as I can tell. They almost look like plastic Solo cups!

Very lovely home, nicely done inside and out. Gorgeous location. This would be a wonderful site to have a family reunion at the beach.

Anon- They look exactly like cups I have that I LOVE…you can get them here! They are fun because they really do look like Solo cups but are insulated and reusable!

Thank you Erin and Fran for providing the information on those turquoise tumblers! I love dishware that's made of either glass or ceramic/stoneware, but won't hesitate to get these that are made of plastic. Actually, plastic is better to have around two curious kitties that like to knock things over – there may be a mess to clean up but at least the tumbler won't break, right? ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks again!

Beautiful home! Love that mega bunk room! Do you happen to know the manufacturer/color name of the outdoor pavers? We are building a home in Florida and these look like what I am wanting.

    Thanks!

this home is beautiful! I wish, however, that you hadn't shown it for selfish reasons. My family has visited Cape San Blas since 2007 and we LOVE it…..it is quiet and beautiful……we have hoped it would stay that way forever. It's the place where we can reconnect as a family time and time again with crystal blue waters and friendly people at every turn……this house will be first on our list to rent for next year's trip!

Hi Wendy, thank for your compliment! The pavers are "Cobble Antiqua" and they were installed by Kilgore's http://www.kilgorepavers.com in Port St. Joe. – I hope this helps! Thanks! Fran

I love the rugs also! They match my fiesta ware really well. The rugs come in different shapes and other colors too (but of course the turquoise blue is my fav)! I am enjoying the positive feedback about Sunnyside Up – it brings a smile to my face! ๐Ÿ™‚
    Thanks,

Fran, we are in the process of buying land on the cape and plan to build within the year. Who was your builder if you don’t mind me asking?
