Cottage Modern Nursery

January 10, 2012

My oh my, is this nursery adorable or what?! Interior designer (and fellow Minneapolis dweller) Kristen of Cottage Modern wanted a bright, fresh space for her brand new baby Tate. She chose the aqua and orange color palette to go along with all the crisp white, with whimsical touches everywhere you look! I love the cute map letters she made, the ottoman pouf from etsy shop aletafae and all of the cute nautical touches (we need more of that in Minnesota!) Last but definitely not least, I am just loving the fab built-ins she painted Sherwin Williams Meander Blue to offset all the bright accessories! (The rest of the room is Restoration Hardware’s Pale Silver, above the board and batten paneling.) You don’t want to miss out on the before’s of this space (it was quite a transformation!) so head on over to Cottage Modern for more!

This little nursery is so precious! I love the aqua and orange color palette, I literally JUST finished an e-design nursery last night using these colors! Thanks so much for sharing!

Awesome find, Erin! We have been thinking of babies a lot lately, so I'm loving looking at nurseries even more than I used to! My hubby loves the deep orange used in this nursery – could be a contender for a future nursery! Of course I love the turquoise! We are also starting the process of buying our first home – so exciting! I can't wait to start using the inspiration on your blog for our first home. 🙂

Also – you would think with all the lakes in MN more people would be drawn to more "coastal" decorating. Let's get on that!

Wow wow. The whales on the inside of the pendant shade absolutely caught ahold of me and won't let go. Seriously awesome.

Aww…the whales are a perfect touch. Thanks for posting…thinking of incorporating some of this orange/tangerine into my little man's bedroom.
    Such inspiration!

I'm not much of a modern fan, but what I do really like is that changing table with hutch and shelves built in! Brilliant that it is also a desk!! Will grow perfectly with him in time. (Says she who is about to shuffle the baby and big girl rooms because I did not account for this eventuality!!)

Love this! Especially the pouf and the pom pom fringe on the pendant! I did these same colors in my little Lucy's room last march. Only, I did subtle fox and bird accents. Do you know where the fox print over the dresser is from?

I would love to know the trim and moulding paint color. Its very creamy.

I’m Erin and I am obsessed with the color turquoise. I started this blog to collect inspirational photos I find of fabulous rooms that feature all of the lovely shades of my favorite color. For even more turquoise, visit my shopping blog Everything Turquoise!
