Interior Philosophy

September 28, 2011

I can’t begin to tell you how much I love this Watercolor, Florida vacation home photographed by Brian Bieder belonging to Mandy Mayers. Together with Jessica Roan, her friend and business partner in their Atlanta home furnishings shop, Interior Philosophy, the pair lifted colors from the surrounding coastal area when designing the space. It’s beachy, but not in the conventional way we’re used to seeing on here. Normally I like a lot of color, but there’s so much depth here from the mix of textures combined with all the layers of natural elements. The sophisticated pops of gray and turquoise add the perfect amount of contrast. Gosh I love it. To read all about the home, just hop on over to Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles!

My favorite was the secret peek of aqua on the ceiling. What a nice little surprise.

That bedroom is one of my all time faves – it's just enough sophistication to make it really interesting, yet down to earth to make it totally comfortable! Love it!

I LOVE this house – right up my alley. Love the turquoise head chairs rather than all the chairs the same in the 2 different shots. (PS I'm getting rid of the red accents and going blue in my family room – recent blog post. Don't know why I didn't do this earlier – can't go wrong with blue.)

It's gorgeous! Looks a lot like the model homes around here in CA. I've always wanted my home to look exactly like that, haha!

I agree. Normally that would be WAY too much neutral for me, but the sparks of color manage to balance the whole thing out. Hmmmmm ….

This reminds me of an article called "organic glam"…I love it.

And Erin (and others)- thought you might like the wall color of my sister's room I just redid. Its a bit on the dark side of turquoise, but oh-so delectable.

This place is GORGEOUS!! I am in the middle of doing up our house in a very similar color palette.

I'm wondering – does anybody know where some of those bold fabrics come from? I'm especially interested in the living room pillows and bedroom pillows. Fabulous!

Hi Amy! I don't know where those fabrics came from, but I'm going to dig around and see if I can figure it out. I love them too, and our home is similar in colors too. There are similar coral pillows available at these stores here and here!

the fabric is Thomas Paul for Duralee

    http://www.duralee.com/fabrics/product.php?pattern_id=16547

I'm dying to know what the paint color in that entry (and it looks like also the living room) is, we tried for a similar color in our basement. Went with SW Spare White and it doesn't read blue/gray enough. Only during certain times of day. My husband will be thrilled to know that I'm planning to repaint…again.
