Beloved Rainwashed

May 18, 2010

Thank you SO MUCH everyone for your great comments yesterday with all your favorite turquoise paint! I’m so excited to have all of your recommendations. I appreciate it, as does everyone else! If you ever think of any more, feel free to comment again!

With that being said, I’m sure many of you will love these two rooms designed by Abbe Fenimore that she featured on her Studioten25’s Blog. Both rooms are painted “Rainwashed” by Sherwin Williams, a color that so many of you adore. I can see why…it’s truly a beautiful color! And how about that super-cute colorful dog artwork on the walls from my favorite SugarBoo Designs! Love that too! To see more of this beautiful bedroom & bath, head over here!

This is one of my favorite colors! I've painted three bathrooms, a bedroom, and a dining room/kitchen in this color (in 4 different houses). It is such a soothing color, and works in almost any room in the house.

Hi Erin. Like you I Love the color Turquoise. I'm so Glad I came acrossed your blog. I just might spend all day looking at it. I painted my closet door blue. You can find it on my blog. Althought I'm not sure if its worthy enough for yours.

After looking at this post last night, I headed straight over to Sherwin Williams today to look at their Rainwashed color sample card. To my big, big surprise – on the card, Rainwashed is a very gray-toned color. There didn't seem to be a hint of aqua or turquoise in it. But it does in most of the pictures here.

I ended up picking out "Waterfall" – just applied some to my dining room wall, and am waiting for it to completely dry before I give the final verdict. So far, it's a very pretty aqua, somewhere between "vivid" and "subtle" if that makes any sense.

By the way, I LOVE this website.

Update on "Waterfall" – I had them lighten it up a bit so that it was somewhere between the actual color and the lightest one on the tab, which is "Embellished Blue." The paint's drying as I type, but so far it's a very pretty pale aqua.

Just to let you know you are very influential and have great taste. (i realized it was someone else's design, but the way you arranged all the turquoise rooms let me know which one I LOVED) I just painted my MBR in rainwashed and bought a pintucked comforter from TARZHAY!!! Ottoman and pillows next!!

Erin, what trim and ceiling color do you recommend for a "Rainwashed" room? Something soft and not too contrasty.
