Elizabeth Home Decor and Design

May 13, 2016

If there’s one place a designer can have fun and experiment, it’s a designer show house! Boston-based interior designer Elizabeth Benedict of Elizabeth Home Decor & Design did just that when she created her “Chinoiserie Chic” bedroom in The Junior League of Boston’s 45th Anniversary Show House in Newton, Massachusetts, captured here by Michael J. Lee Photography. The pattern play and color mix is absolutely fab-u-lous! The talented designer was inspired by her teenage daughter; she wanted to create a space that was feminine, light and playful, but with sophisticated furniture that she wouldn’t grow out of. Once Elizabeth decided on the bamboo wallpaper for the ceiling, she went all out with the Chinoiserie theme, while the gorgeous rug and colorful fabric on the bench helped guide her color choices. Oh those colors! L.O.V.E. So many great details and sources, see the list below for details…but if you have a question, let me know in the comments!

The show house is currently open to the public through June 5, 2016, so if you’re in the Boston area, definitely check it out! Another cool thing: most everything in the home (including this room!) is for sale…and better yet, 20% of the proceeds go to The Junior League of Boston. They also have a design boutique on site too! So fun!
