Bayberry Cottage

October 2, 2015

When a color-loving couple inherited an old family homestead in South Haven, Michigan, they turned to interior designers Gwen DeBruyn and Amber Fae of Bayberry Cottage to give it a much-needed update! They took everything down to the studs, working through the winter with their crew, infusing color and personality into the old Four Square (photographed here by Johnny Quirin). What a joy to open that fabulous turquoise door and be greeted with such cheery color! The pattern play, bold use of color, it’s all so up my alley! You’ll love seeing even more of their work here, but if you’re lucky enough to be in that area of Michigan, a stop in their store is a must!

Have a fun fall weekend everyone!! 🙂

I love love love turquoise as well. Growing up in the 50's/60's our mom decorated with turquoise, brown and pink…in fact the outside of our house was brown with a light pink trim. Our kitchen was knotty pine with a built in turquoise banquette, and turquoise topped chrome table. Somehow all 6 of us were able to eat in that little corner every day. I had no urge for turquoise myself but always loved pink and green. Now in my big girl house…I have all beach glass colors, turquoise, soft gold, dark brown wood floors, and bedrooms of blue, robins egg blue and light blue. It is such a soothing color…and so fun to work with the colors that go with it. I LOVE what Gwen and team at
Bayberry Cottage did with the SoHa home…she has an excellent eye for decorating. Keep up the good work!
