Mick De Giulio

August 9, 2012

Normally I’m into all-white kitchen, but this one designed by internationally renowned kitchen designer Mick De Giulio of de Giulio kitchen design out of Chicago has me seriously rethinking that! Photographed by Dave Burk of Hedrich Blessing Photographers, this French country kitchen from a home in Monte Sereno, California strikes the perfect balance between rustic and elegant. I love all the natural elements here, the open shelving and nooks, and the big island, not to mention the windows and fab aqua backsplash (obviously)!! You can see lots more amazing kitchens designed by Mick De Giulio right here, or check out his book Kitchen Centric, which features eighteen of his favorite kitchen projects!

Just beautiful. Love the use of color on the backsplash. It's a great punch of color to contrast the other rustic elements.

Erin–Thanks for this feature. I've had a designer crush on Mick De Giulio for ages, and his work is impeccable time after time. I agree with you–normally white kitchens are my thing, but I feel like I could move right in to this one!

WOW~ I stopped breathing for a moment as I scrolled down! ARE YOU KIDDING ME with the stainless and rustic beams playing so well with each other? That butlers pantry makes me want to pick an orange off a tree I know must be growing right outside those beautiful windows and make some juice. The light marble with with dark woods. There is a beautiful tension in this design that is interesting and purposeful. I want to stroll around this whole house! Any chance you can feature more of the place?
Thank you so much for sharing this today. You made my evening.

Love all the natural elements of watery backsplash, wood beams and stone wall juxtaposed with the modern sleekness of stainless steel. The one off-note for me is the tall stand on the island.

I’m Erin and I am obsessed with the color turquoise. I started this blog to collect inspirational photos I find of fabulous rooms that feature all of the lovely shades of my favorite color. For even more turquoise, visit my shopping blog Everything Turquoise!
