Marmalade Interiors

March 28, 2012

Does your home feel like you?? Swedish-born interior designer Jill Sorensen of Marmalade Interiors out of McLean, Virginia believes that your home affects you deeply–ignoring your home is ignoring yourself! Her vibrant home above photographed by Tanya Malott translates to where she is in life right now: fearless, carefree and happy. So much cheery color, I love it! With the idea that you can improve your life with good design, and that good design should be available to everybody, at any budget, Jill started a blog called Live.Like.You. in addition to a (really cool) online store. She sells a lot of unique, colorful home decor, but also provides a ton of free design ideas and advice! Check it out here!

    Well, it's official:

I'm a Cranky Old Bat whose nerves are shot! This house, charming as it is (and it is) would drive me batty (LOL!) in a few minutes. Too much pattern, too many colors overlapping. Not saying it isn't well done – it is – and it is delightful. And it works! Just not for me.

PS This will certainly be pinned to death 🙂

Whoa, that's certainly a bright house. I do like pops of bright yellow and turquoise. I especially love that turquoise velvet sofa, but …I think I need a more calming color scheme!

Love the color. Favorite is piano bench with purple cushion, and the large/oversized decorative framed mirror.

Where do you find a frame that decorative and large??

I’m Erin and I am obsessed with the color turquoise. I started this blog to collect inspirational photos I find of fabulous rooms that feature all of the lovely shades of my favorite color. For even more turquoise, visit my shopping blog Everything Turquoise!
