Four Chairs Furniture – Day One

February 22, 2012

Many of you may remember last year’s week-long Dream Home Tour of a beautiful Hamptons-style home located in Utah. The homeowners worked with Lindy Allen, designer and owner of Four Chairs Furniture. Well we’re in for a treat today–and the rest of the week–because we’re visiting Lindy’s very own home! As you can already see, we’re in for loads of unique furnishings, great pattern and juicy color–including bursts of turquoise (Lindy’s favorite too!) We’re starting off today in the foyer, piano room, office and mudroom. How fun, right?? Like the last tour, this one is also photographed by Hiya Papaya Photography! And most of what you see came from her fab, fab store Four Chairs Furniture (it’s a good thing I don’t anywhere near Lindon, Utah or I’d be in serious trouble!)

Come back tomorrow to see more of this awesome home!

I live right in Lindon by Four Chairs. They have some really cute stuff, but it's very predictable for Utah, and it's quite expensive. :/

Stephanie – have you even BEEN in Four Chairs? I live close to it too! And the reason I love it is because it is anything BUT "predictable" – for Utah or anywhere for that matter. Their stuff is not the typical heavy, brown, mountainy things you see around here. They have style and color and pattern and you can customize anything. And I think their prices are very reasonable. Lindy and the girls who work in there do a fantastic job. Did you see the home they decorated for the Parade of Homes last year? It was definitely anything but predictable! And definitely not "Utah." It was a light, airy, beachy style! House of Turquoise, can't wait to see more of this fun house! What a treat!

OMG! How jawdroppingly charming! I adore how Lindy has put together all these colours in what appears to be a relatively small space and yet it all works. I am so inspired! This is definitely one of my fave posts. Thanks, Erin!

I think what Stephanie was saying is they have a lot of items similar to Rod Works, Tai Pan, Down to Earth and other Utah stores. I like the 4-Chairs store and the items they have but was quite disappointed with their in home design. I gave them a budget and they more than tripled it and added in a design fee I was unaware of. I figured if I was buying all the stuff from their store that was the fee; I guess I was wrong. I ended up returning almost everything to the store and while there I found that they were selling the items in store for less than they were charging me during in home design. I also found a mirror they were selling in store for $200 at Tai Pan for $40 so it's very hit and miss.

I also have had Four Chairs come to my home and do in-home design. Over the course of the past 6 months they have come back again and again doing a room at a time and making things perfectly how I want them. After working with Lindy and the staff at Four Chairs I can say with confidence that if there were ever any discrepancy they would fix it no questions asked. I have never felt so taken care of. People are human, and people in Utah tend to forget that in their little judgmental huffs… One thing I love is the quality of the furniture. I love my house and I love Four Chairs.

So Stephanie is the assistant for another "designer" in the area, huh? Sounds like they're all bent out of shape that their ugly brown stuff can't compete with Lindy's actual STYLE! 🙂

Why does it matter, anyway? When this is on a NATIONAL blog. Why tear down Lindy and her work? Jealous people!

It's always SO MUCH FUN to photograph homes decorated by Lindy with Four Chairs Furniture!!! The colorful, beachy feel makes me happy. Each piece is bright and fun and unique. I'd never even seen a hampton-style home here in Utah before, until being in the first Four Chairs-furnished dream home that Erin posted (Cristi's). Since then I've become a big fan! Thanks for posting Erin!

oh wow… the anonymous person who left the negative comment above sounds a LOT like another designer in the area… it's unfortunate this person resorts to dragging down Lindy and four chairs to try to get clients!
