Lots of light with white cabinetry, turquoise tiles, and Carrera marble countertops…this is what my favorite kitchens are made of! Cynthia of Meringue Designs doesn’t design kitchens for a living (really cool, modern designs for machine embroidery is her business), but with the help of Orem, Utah’s Benjamin Blackwelder Cabinetry, she recently remodeled her dark, inefficient kitchen into her dream one. She and her husband Paul lived in their old kitchen for 5 years, figuring out exactly how they wanted their dream space to look–and saving up the money to do it right. Each and every aspect is so well thought-out. Just visit her blog Deep Thoughts by Cynthia to see what I mean (and for ‘before’ shots!). Such inspiration. She has a really great source list too…including that fab, fab subway tile!

I re-did my kitchen one year ago and it is very similar to this one.
I've always wanted to send you some pictures. Maybe I'll take the time and try to do that. Your blog inspires me everyday!
Really adore the subway tiles and the flooring. Gorgeous!

I love the subway tile! It really warms up the kitchen.

I need that tile! Gorgeous.
Love it!! It really is such a lovely space- WELL DONE!! I especially love the tile. It is so watery. Thanks for sharing Erin!
That kitchen is amazing! Love the tile, the marble, and the mix of white and wood cabinets.
Wow, I LOVE this!
love the outlet plugs!
Gorgeous! I just love that tile backsplash and the beautiful wood floor.
Very smart looking kitchen. The subway tiles make it.
Hi Erin,
This post came at the perfect time. My friend is going crazy trying to pick her aqua tiles for her kitchen and this is the perfect inspiration to push her over the edge and take the plunge! I forwarded this post to her!
Thanks,

This kitchen is lovely!! I really like the tiles, wood, white, and metal combo!! SO simple yet not plain at all.
the tiles are gorgeous and I was really stunned to find myself loving the metal outlet faceplates. they pick up the reflection of the glossy tiles and in doing so end up melting into the background. Nice!
The cabs and the floor are gorgeous, too!

Subway tiles are my favorite but the counter tops are so empty it doesn't look lived in. Where is the coffee station???? Oh, and the close-up of the lights cracks me up! HI!!!
I went to visit my friend Cynthia & see this new fabulous kitchen of hers last week…it is even more gorgeous in person and feels like a showroom, but she cooks for real, people! She USES this kitchen and made it functional for her…no coffee station 'cause she doesn't drink coffee. 🙂
Wow Cynthia. Tell me, where ever did you get the inspiration on this remodel? I can't quite place it's perfect exactness to a kitchen I designed…
Love the mix of the turquoise tiles with the marble counters!
Hey, would you mind adding a search bar on your site? I was looking for a photo with turquoise bar stools. I'm sure I've seen them here before, but there's no way to search for the word stool in all your posts. Thanks!
