Elizabeth Sullivan Design

November 10, 2010

Just because I’m engaged now doesn’t mean I’ve got nurseries on my mind! But when I first saw this amazing one by New Orleans designer Elizabeth Sullivan, I have to admit my ovaries did hurt a little! It’s just exactly the sort of space I would want to have for my own little one some day. Full of fun color, lots of texture and cozy layers. How cool are those aqua stripes on the ceiling?? And the wall of books?! Genius! Elizabeth actually has her own blog too that I love…check it out here!

The ceiling is great. It makes sense to add color and design on the ceiling I suppose, since babies are on their back a lot of the time?
    (I don't have kids so I don't know)

    Ann Marie,
The ottoman is from Urban Outfitters and was very inexpensive! It is super heavy and huge – a great find!

Love this room, especially that wall of books. The only problem is my 2-year-old would be climbing that wall! LOL! 🙂

LOVE the striped ceiling, reminds me of an awning or cabana and it is fantastic! Also LOVE that wall of books, makes me just want to sit there ready children's fairy tales all day! The mobile is awesome as well, look at those monkeys, and am loving the dolls in the crib. Jeez, I love everything about this room!

Erin, you are so funny, I hope your ovaries have recovered! LOL!

Love the "Bla Bla" dolls in the crib! I have given each of my nieces and nephews one (or more!). They adore them too. Super soft and "huggable".

The rest of the room is beautiful too!

What a fun room – love the ceiling. A friend of mine has a great tutorial for some rain gutter bookshelves that can quickly turn an ordinary wall into beautiful display bookshelves. Here's the link: http://raisingolives.com/2009/07/raingutter-book-shelves-tutorial/

Are the bookshelves shown made of rain gutters? I am ready to do something like this in a room but not sure about using rain gutters. How are these made? The whole room is fantastic but the shelves are the the focal point for me =)

I love this and really want to do this in my son's playroom! How did you make the shelves or where did you buy them? I saw the post about the gutter shelves, but I wasn't a big fan of the look (although, great idea!). Thanks!
