I’ve had that first photo of the kitchen bookmarked for years now, so I was delighted to stumble across more images of the home and finally learn who was behind incredible space! The Ft. Lauderdale home was designed by the boutique design firm Blue Sky Environments Interior Decor out of Sunrise, Florida. Lets just start with that kitchen, should we? The distressed aqua blue island, amazing tiled backsplash, plus the gorgeous shell chandeliers, make it one of the loveliest kitchens I’ve ever seen. And the rest of the spaces certainly don’t disappoint either! Talk about exquisite detail! I adore the relaxed sophistication about each room, and of course all of the beautiful colors and textures inspired by the sea! as soon as I saw the shot of the water I thought hey, that looks like it’s from around here! And it is! Beautifully designed SO FL home. Thanks!

Hi Pamela,
Thank you for your kind words and you are correct. The homeowner is in Ft. Lauderdale and our offices are in Sunrise. It sounds like we are neighbors!

I love the chandeliers! Did anyone noticed the cat?
Barbara Murtagh Nash says
Hi Sophia,
The kitchen chandeliers are beautiful coral and shells , the master bath is a frosty white floral composite, the family room is wood and mirror in strands of garland and the cat is the owners….giggle..

I. Want. That. House!!! I want to move in there yesterday and spend the rest of my life there. So beautiful and warm. I mean for starters, that foyer bench and rack! To die for. All the furniture is so beautiful. Never mind all the beautiful colors that I love. I am so glad you saved the picture of that wonderful kitchen and finally found the house it was in and shared it with us. I am going to have to keep this post and pretend I live there every once and awhile. You always manage to come up with homes that I fall just fall in love with. This was one of those.

Hi Anne,
This is BSEID (www.bseid.com) and I wanted to tell you a little about the bench in the foyer of this home. We worked with our client from the ground up on this home. The lot has an amazing view but is awkward in shape. When the interior space was developed, the staircase and foyer did not have any wall to anchor any furniture. I was able to find an antique “bar” back in aged mahogany from Philadelphia that we built into the base of the staircase. It was in terrible shape but we painted it a white satin, built a seat and ….there you have it! It gives the house a lot of character.

Thank you so much for the background on the bench. What you came up with for that space is just so beautiful. I love it! ?

What a gorgeous home!!! I want to move in immediately! I LOVE that the master bedroom ceiling is painted with something other than white. I’ve been toying with the idea for a while, but my husband insists that all ceilings should be white. This is a perfect example to show him. Any idea on the colors used in the master, especially on the ceiling?
Thanks.
Marcela says
Sorry…..I meant the dining room. I want to use the same scheme for OUR master. What colors were used in the dining room?
Thanks.
Barbara Murtagh Nash says
Hi Marcela,
There is a paint grade Tongue and Groove wood on the ceiling in the dining room. We could have just painted the ceiling but we thought the added detail of a T/G ceiling would give it more dimension. We are not in the office currently but we will look at our paint schedule tomorrow and send you the exact color of robin’s egg blue we painted.

Oh Barbara,
The color and technique of the kitchen sink island is exactly what we are looking for the salon bathroom. What paints are you using? Is this chalk paint with a wax rub?? Love it! It really is just right, not too much and yet so much color!! Thanks for your help!
Barbara Murtagh Nash says
Hi Becky,
We just got back into our studio from the weekend. I will be back in touch soon with your question answered.
Best and have a Blue Sky day!
