If you’ve read my blog for a while, you know I’m a big fan of Vetrazzo and their drop dead gorgeous handcrafted recycled glass slabs and tiles! (Did you even know they made tiles?!) Interior designer Toni Sabatino recently used Vetrazzo in this beautiful New York teenage girls’ en suite bathroom, giving it a bright and airy coastal vibe! The surfaces really catch and reflect light, making the tiny space feel so much larger. And the beautiful paint color (Benjamin Moore “Bali” 702) perfectly complements the sea glass-inspired Floating Blue color of the Vetrazzo, as does TileBar’s T-Stone Aqua porcelain floor tile! The bathroom also beautifully showcases Sea Pearl, Vetrazzo’s newest finish, on the countertop, shower curbs, jambs and niche. Don’t you just want to touch it? I’ve never seen anything like it! Just like the original polished finish, it’s primarily composed of crushed recycled glass (in this case, demolition architectural glass from skyscrapers), but what sets it apart is the tactile dimension. “The pieces of glass seemed to rise up gently out of the concrete surface with the texture of a worn piece of sea glass but with an opalescent quality of a pearl, like bubbles rising to the surface of sand under the surf.” Love it so much! Yet another reason to love it? Every Vetrazzo slab is truly a work of art, handmade by skilled artisans in Tate, Georgia!

    I love that these come in tiles, I’ve only ever seen this type of material as counter tops in slab form.

  223. We just bought a condo in Ormond Beach Florida. We are trying to do some of the renovations ourselves as a lot of things just aren’t in our reach right now. When I see these beautiful countertops it reminds me of the sea glass I used to pick up on the beach in Puerto Rico, west Ricon. Where we would go rent before Covid became part of our lives. Natural magical pieces the sea would throw onto the beach in such beautiful different shades of blues, greens, whites. Having a countertop like that would truly be a memory come true! Since the floors are large beige tiles I can not replace right now any color would be so welcome. If I had to choose it’d be something with a beige background so I can live with that beige tile and still have some beauty!

  224. I’m a interior designer and love keeping up with the new design trends. After seeing your blog I was very curious about the products from Verazzo. It’s Not your 60’s Terrazzo! I fell in love with it. I work on the East Coast of Florida and this product would be great for any home here. A LOT of the older homes here have the old terrazzo in them and very rarely will you find any of it pretty. But when I had seen this product it made me want to use it as a design element. The colors are versatile and timeless. Not busy at all. Easy for cleaning unlike tile with grout joints. My absolute favorite is the “EMERALD COAST”, the colors are are gorgeous. Made with Oyster Shells and Marble gives it glistening contrast. Sadly, I wanted to order a sample for my present project in working on but it wasn’t available at the present time. I did show it to my clients and they are interested. Which makes me excited. I can’t wait to work with it. Thank you so much for sharing this product with us.
