After Hurricane Sandy completely demolished this family’s beloved beach shack in 2012, they turned to Caldwell & Johnson to rebuild their Rhode Island vacation home. Using sustainable building materials and practices, the full-service design-build firm created a new home–one not only built to last, but energy efficient as well. Interior designer Lorine Foley of Lorine Design Services gave the home nautical-inspired style with a classic seaside palette infused with splashes of red. I especially love the large kitchen, designed by Coventry Lumber, and how it opens up to the porch! The blue island is fab too! AND the view!! See more photos by Nat Rea and read the touching story about the home over at Rhode Island Monthly!
Oh and if you loved this one, I know you’ll love another home by Caldwell & Johnson that I shared last year…go here!
