Wicks Nest

June 24, 2014

I’ve really been enjoying the summer home tours going on recently in Blogland…one of my favorites being the Pleasanton, California home of Kristy Wick, the author of the blog Wicks Nest! Like me, Kristy is a big fan of all shades of blue. When deciding on paint colors, she went with ones that made her the happiest–the colors of the sky and ocean, choosing shades that would give the home an airy, light and bright vibe. And it really does, every room feels like a vacation! Not only that, but it feels so cozy and inviting, and you can tell a family really does live and love here! You guys have to see more of her home, her cute little town, and her great blog…so head here next!

Paint Colors

Master Bedroom & Guest Room – Restoration Hardware Silver Sage
Family Room, Kitchen, Daughter’s Room & Bonus Room – RH Glacier
Main Entry, Study & Hallways – Kelly Moore Frost

When I was first married, it seemed every hand-me-down we had for the house was some shade of blue. There was so much blue that I changed to other colors and banned any blue from my decor for many years. We recently moved to SC where it's sunny most of the year Being in the Lowcountry and close to the beaches has brought blue back to my favorites again.

This is one of the most beautiful examples of using blue to its finest that I've seeen. Light, airy, elegant and just a bit feminine. Thanks for showing such a gorgeous example of how to live in a home with a balanced amount of blue.
