Sabrina Alfin Interiors

July 8, 2013

Nothing says coastal like a sand and sea color palette! Interior designer Sabrina Alfin out of San Mateo, California created the perfect getaway for a couple who wanted a casual and comfortable nautical look for their coast side neighborhood home, photographed here by Dean J. Birinyi. Also important to them was keeping things eco-friendly. (Sabrina actually won an award for adhering to green design principles and practices in this project!) The coziness of the space is what immediately won me over (oh, and the dreamy wall color–Sherwin-Williams Retiring Blue #6763!)…so many comfy places to relax! Love that tile in the kitchen too though, so fun! For more on this project, head on over here!

Hi Jenn – The sofa is from Pottery Barn. It's a PB Square sectional with a slipcover. Love it!

I love how they sort of "amped up" the color and energy in the kitchen area! Isn't it cool how you go from that soft, summer dream of a livingroom and then imagine the vibrant cooking just a few steps over? Love that!

    Hi Guys,

I am a huge fan of this design from Sabrina Alfin; I particularly like how she has managed to capture a natural yet creative feel around the place.

I have seen so many home use natural colours and end up with a colour scheme that simply doesn't work. I also love the mosaic tiles used in the kitchen area, they add some colour to what potentially could of been a very plain area… She has used many homely objects to create a sense of relaxation and I like the cute wine rack feature.

Accessories such as the plant on the table make this a home for me. Would anybody agree

Beautiful and inspirational. I’m curious where the ladder desk came from or was it custom? It fits so perfectly in the room. Thanks!

I’m Erin and I am obsessed with the color turquoise. I started this blog to collect inspirational photos I find of fabulous rooms that feature all of the lovely shades of my favorite color. For even more turquoise, visit my shopping blog Everything Turquoise!
