Linda and Martin Bradbury

May 22, 2013

Located in picturesque southern Spain with spectacular views of the Serranía de Ronda, this vacation home has been treasured by Linda and Martin Bradbury for two decades. Linda owns a decor accessories shop in London, and Martin works in remodeling and restoration, so the talented duo decorated the home themselves using traditional techniques, natural materials and reclaimed furniture. The color palette (and awesome styling!) of the home feels so warm and inviting…not to mention uber-relaxing! I can’t tell you how much I’m the turquoise window and cozy window seat! I just came back from sisters weekend in Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach Florida, and there were punches of tangerine color everywhere – I just loved it and I am seeing the same in these pictures. Lovely. Thanks,

#1, I am dying over that window! #2, this post completely inspired me. The house we bought 1.5 years ago is sort of a combo French/classic/slightly craftsman/a little rustic/a little traditional and formal. I really love it. I've decorated in blues (china blue, turquoise, RH silver sage, etc. with a little apple green and a splash of red here and there as a surprise). It was a custom home, but I'm guessing that by the time they got to the master bath, they were over budget and bought whatever tile was on sale. It's terra-cotta colored. It goes with NOTHING ELSE in the house that they or I did. I've not painted or decorated anything in there bc I have no idea what to do with that crazy tile. I mean really! But seeing these pictures just shows me I can do my beloved turquoise! It will look great! I would also like to say that turquoise has been my signature color for about 17 years, before it was so trendy. When I got married 10 years ago my wedding color was turquoise and fuschia accents. Everyone thought I was crazy when I told them, but it turned out gorgeous! It was impossible to find turquoise bridesmaid dresses, and nearly impossible to find turquoise fabric to have them made. On the one hand I love that I can find things in my favorite color, on the other hand I hate that it's a trend and everyone is doing it and it's no longer my unique special signature color. Do you get that way about this color?

Looking at the photos, I was wondering where this was. Didn't quite look like California. Southern Spain makes sense. This is gorgeous!

The moment I saw these photos I had to call my twin sister. We oohed and ahhed over the gorgeous shade of blue on the windows and doors. Living in this home would be like living in paradise! Simply gorgeous.

Gorgeous! As I was looking through this post, I kept thinking, this is Europe. I had it narrowed down to the Mediterranean or coastal Spain. 🙂
Do you cover many international homes?? I love seeing the difference compared to the US.
Thanks for sharing such lovely inspiration!!
