Lisa Barnes + Heidi Smith

April 24, 2013

You what I love?? COLOR! So you know I’m really loving this home belonging to Lisa Barnes, who along with her interior designer sister Heidi Smith out of Saratoga Springs, Utah, transformed her new, ho-hum abode into a cheerful space with tons of personality! Not only is it stylish, it’s also totally budget-friendly! Lisa scored a ton of great furniture from thrift stores, classifieds and Craigslist, and revamped them with paint or new fabric. Trips to Ikea, Pier 1 and Target filled in the rest. My favorite thing in the entire home is the fabulous yellow chair reupholstered in the sunny suzani print…love the turquoise button tufting and trim! The mason jar chandelier from Etsy is brilliant too! For more photos by Michelle Wellington and source info, visit Heidi’s blog Budget Wise Home!

It is amazing how the turquoise works so well with the brilliant shades of red and touches of pink and fuchsia, too.

Just shows that a little imagination and paint can work wonders. Those painted furniture pieces and that explosion of color are amazing!

Perfection! Lisa is a gal after my own heart with her choice of whimsy in her home, color and texture. I also shop exclusively off Craigslist, thrift stores and flea markets. Well done !
