EDYTA & CO.

January 3, 2013

It doesn’t get more glam than teal and gold! Edyta Czajkowska of the Chicago-based interior design studio EDYTA & CO. created this fabulous space for a client who was downsizing into a Chicago highrise rental apartment from another state. She had a great collection of artwork and lots of neutral pieces, but wanted a home with some impact. I love the bold wall color Edyta chose for the walls (Sherwin Williams SW0018 Teal Stencil)…talk about impact–especially with those gorgeous window treatments! Love the fabric on those pillows too! For lots more great designs and inspiration, don’t miss Edyta’s website and blog!

Exquisite!! Do tell me…why do I keep seeing unlined curtains in interiors!? I've noticed this in overseas schemes, and in Sarah's House Designs. Doesn't the sun 'fade' things in other parts of the world!? I live in Queensland, Australia, and if we have unlined curtains they fade and dissolve to smitherines without lining! Intriguing!!

Researching decoration unintentionally I found your site. Loved! I love turquoise and variations of shades of blue. Looks like I found a virtual home! I will always follow the new posts. Congratulations on your idea.

    All the best,

Thanks so much for all your sweet comments!
MelO – the drapes are actually lined, yet they are not lined with a blackout liner. The client wanted to keep the drapes in this position and still get a glimpse of the light through the drapes. It creates an amazing gilstening effect, the teal fabric has beautiful gold thread woven throughout and it really shows it off 🙂
